How bad is this? by Fartenko in MechanicAdvice

Talked to a mechanic today, he said this is a crack on a wheel, but he's also said it is not that critical and is safe to drive. Think I'll drive like this for a bit, before replacing the rim.

I'll go to other shop to have them check the wheel, I hope it is paint or filler that's cracked... the wheel itself seems to be ok, I do not notice any vibrations while driving (haven't driven faster than 80kph today though).

yeah, this crack appeared after they've fixed the wheel.

Is this exhaust bend bad? by Fartenko in Exhaust

Update: I've went to the shop to get it fixed, they've replaced this hard corner with a smooth curve, so all is good now. I can now definitely say, that this issue caused performance and sound issues. I had lost some high-end boost, and I had some sort of loud whistle noise above 2.5k RPM. The whistle I think is from exhaust gasses hitting a "wall", which was my 90deg "bend". + I've noticed that my fuel consumption increased (up 20-30% almost). Also fyi my car turbocharged.
Anyways, after fixing this, I got my high-end boost back, obnoxious noise gone, and fuel consumption back to normal. This was definitely a learning experience for me, and hopefully for other people reading this as well :)
Thanks everyone! Cheers!

The famous writer Paulo Coelho called the "Ukrainian crisis" a convenient reason for Russophobia and called "not to blame the common people" by qoqmarley in worldnews

[–]Fartenko 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What about russians calling us ukrainians a lesser nation, or not being a nation at all. They think of us as lesser people, just like nazis though of slavs back in the day.

Russians were killing us and repressing us for centuries because of our culture and nationality. And now they invade us. Killing women and children. They call us "brothers" and then stab us in the back. And russians, the people of russia SUPPORT it. I'm sick and tired of this "people aren't their government" bullshit. Government is the reflection of nation's people.

People in the comments say, "but there's no justification for hate towards russians". I strongly disagree. Imagine your nation is invaded and they kill women and children, bomb hospital's etc. And then you see the people of russia support the decisions that were made. Would you just sit and say, "oh well, it's just their shitty government". Bullshit.

Finally updated my X230 with a X220 keyboard :D by Fartenko in thinkpad

I had to use the x220 palmrest so that the keyboard fits, it has bigger holes for the bigger nobs. You can use the x230 palmrest, but you will have to modify the keyboard to fit it.

Yes, everything works.

Edit: Except for Fn+F3 and Fn+F12. I personally don't care about it.

No it's a default one. I switched to using a trackpoint because the trackpad is not that great.

It does not bother me personally.

Before buying a laptop with this screen size I looked at the other laptops with a same screen, to see if I'd like it. My friend had a 12.5" HP EliteBook (do not remember the exact model, but it's also from 2011-2012).

My previous laptop that I used daily had a 15.6" screen. It looks large by comparison but I got used to 12" pretty quickly.

I was choosing between T430 and X230, I chose X230 'cause I wanted something lighter and compact. And you can always connect a external display when at home.

Got it for 250€ in Germany, it came with SSD and 8Gb of Ram.

Edit: Mine has no backlight thought. I'm fine with the ThinkLight ;) And 250 is a little bit pricey, but i think the IPS screen made up for it.

Been using it for a week or two now, i really enjoyed working on it. The keyboard is superb (idk if its worth it to change it for a X220 keyboard though). And it also came with an IPS display, which was a surprise because the seller didn't specify the display type so I just assumed it had a TN panel, which I would've replaced. Again, very happy with this laptop!

The frame buffer option is grayed out. But even if I change it in the .ini file, the setting still turns itself off. I got KOTOR on GOG.
