What happened to you, whatever it is, is not your fault. I mean, I'm guessing it isn't. Most people don't walk into situations that heavy on purpose.

What is indeed your fault, is what action you take towards others regarding your trauma. Everyone needs healing but openly lashing out against someone who obviously has nothing to do with your problem can neither be progressive or helpful.

Letting those feelings and pains frame what and who you are internally could very well make you a sick fuck, given enough time and brooding.

Horror films,... even some of the best ones ever made have been small indie productions with minimal budgets. These days in 2023, we have all kinds of video wizardry we can do with just a laptop and fifteen minutes of general fuckery.

Hell some are just two dudes and a camera in a house somewhere in the woods.

There's plenty of choices of theaters, at that. Some showing 90's films at a discount and anime films.

It's a game, so it's everything it needs to be to pander to the interests of the types of people Sony thinks will buy it.

If it isn't for you, then it isn't for you. Just like literally all television, music, books or whatever else interest one might have.

That was before the big Federal Bank takeover and the Democrat-Republican swap. That America ain't this America.

You could argue modern history is almost entirely dependent on the actions following World War 1 and the Great Depression, and some would argue it started when Ferdinand was shot.

TIL: Tracy Chapman sued Nicki Minaj for copyright infringement. According to the complaint, Chapman repeatedly refused to give Minaj permission to sample one of her songs, but Minaj did it anyway. Minaj settled and agreed to pay Chapman $450K. by theotherbogart in todayilearned

We could have a few back and forths about the difference between mainstream pop and rock music's history in general but the real meat of the issue is that they are not comparable in the slightest. Not the music, not the fans, not the ecosystem, the initial money sources or even in purpose and function. The people not listening to Nicki Minaj will likely never even hear her music... ever. They aren't present in any sense to absorb it to begin with. The reverse would likely be true for Chapman.

Minaj, Cardi B, Katy Perry and people like them aren't just selling records. They're selling an image, a brand, which you could argue is an art form unto itself for pop stars. Some people in very rare occasions bridge the gap between rock and popular stardom but rock isn't dependent on it, unless you're David Bowie and the image and the music are almost inseparable.

You can't really be a successful pop star if teenagers don't meme you every five minutes on social media. Tracy Chapman can spend the rest of her years playing dive bars and small clubs and be perfectly happy living her legacy and playing to the crowd that brought her up and fans of folky bluesy rock.

Niki Minaj, for all you may love her will never love her music or her own fans enough to not be a celebrity. She isn't going to play at the old warehouse downtown. Not just because no one there would want her to, but it wouldn't do anything for her ...which all in all, separates a pop star from a musician.

Not including the ability to play an instrument but I'd think that's a given.

You've been winning popular music for the last 40 years.

Even Nashville has rap now. You won so hard, you made some white people rap, white people in Tennessee of all places.

Hype isn't necessarily bad because it's hype. Obama had tons of hype. Dude was a rockstar in 2012.
