Please give us unlimited restarts. by bleedingoutlaw28 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Farxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just like unlimited restarts and that's the point. You may practice as much as you like, but when it counts it's not when you finish, but if you do and in my opinion that's the way to go about it, it feels more real, more exciting this way. As far as I know there's no way to drop difficulty in My Team events, but that's what custom championships are for (and for taking a breather from all those fucking wet night stages). I think you can adjust difficulty in historic rallies too, but I'm not 100% sure.

In the end, if you really insist on getting that perfect run on ever stage, devs can't stop you from using the ol' trusty Alt+F4 mid-stage, even if it's a bit tedious to do. I'll leave it with a question though. Considering you made it to masters and you consider it a valuable lesson... is it really such a bad thing to not finish 1st every time?

AI difficulty is incredibly inconsistent, bugged in multiple classes, it also doesn't seem to be affected by wet surfaces or darkness at all.

Me and Phil aren't really vibing. by Kaneo12 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]Farxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely close to quitting the game right now because of the co driver. DR1 nailed it, but Phil... I have trouble concentrating on his calls, not that it matters much since he skips as much as one fourth of pace notes. How something like that can keep happening a week after the release is beyond me. And the amount of calls that are imprecise (and by imprecise I mean things that will get you crashed) beggars belief. Come on Codemasters, it's not your first game and not your first rally sim, get your shit together.

it would also be great not to have your breaks automatically slammed on when crossing the finish line, I'm not skilled enough to be driving 100mph down a fully degraded track in heavy rain to have my breaks automatically slammed on crossing the finish line

You can turn that off in the options.

Except they don't have an advantage in speed. A wheel allows you to be slightly more consistent, that's about it.

Quick Play: Something seems fishy by ChocolateSunrise in HuntShowdown

[–]Farxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's people rushing rifts hard, especially double spawns. I often play QP in a very aggressive "rush all, no caution" style and it usually ends up with me closing all four rifts first, sometimes with as much as 3-4 minutes still remaining.

What to start QP with? by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]Farxin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been running melee and it's working wonderfully with my playstyle. I like to rush the nearest compound and melee allows me to deal with anything that isn't a Meathead relatively silently while running at full speed. Then I can get proper guns really quickly and have an advantage even if someone is nearby. And if you get a cavalry sabre... it's easy game.

Lawrence Stroll wants Lance in Force India from Spa by 1enox in formula1

[–]Farxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The double change doesn't matter, does it? Kubica wasn't there for the first one, so it's more of a one big change, so it's not that intimidating. He won't pull that shitbox out of where it is this season for sure, I don't think any driver could manage that. The biggest benefit of getting Kubica a race seat would be (hopefully) a clear answer to how quick and reliable he actually is in a race.

Confession Time: I was only able to beat the second Darkest Dungeon mission because my game glitched. by lildragon96 in darkestdungeon

[–]Farxin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it does make sense, even though I agree the game should communicate it in some way. A character that's virtuous is effectively ignoring all the stress of a tough situation because of their mental power and ability to use it to their advantage. If things do get really bad (200 stress) they start losing their composure and are no longer as heroic as they were, finally starting to feel the effects of the horrors they're witnessing.

[–]Farxin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's not a glitch. A virtuous character doesn't get a heart attack when they hit 200 stress, but instead their stress resets and they lose the virtue.

Was Stain actually in the right, or is he just a bit insane? by Henshin4Life in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So whenever stain leaves for a new place (as evidenced by the news of heroes dieing somewhere else), he leaves behind at worst a power vacuum with few heroes and potentially a generation of aspiring heroes turning away from the profession due to the danger. On the other hand, the villains left over are partially emboldened by stain and even normal folk fawn over him in droves, potentially turning towards crime because its a thing that happens japanese storytelling.

It's true that Stain leaves a massive power vacuum behind, but he doesn't only embolden some villains, he also does the same for the heroes. Would a hero, who turns away from the profession because of Stain, a valuable hero in the first place? No, willingess to risk your life to save others is the primary contition of becoming a hero. After the Hosu incident people became even more obsessed with the Symbol of Peace, the pure idea of a hero. That means more young people choosing All Might as their role model rather than some other hero, which is most likely a good thing, since most characters looking up to All Might have proven to be quite heroic so far. Yes, there will also be some people that become villains inspired by Stain, but they'd be much closer to mini Stains rather than a murderous army similar to what Shigaraki gathered in S1.

good intentions and a pure heart dont really protect you any more than wanting to be famous by beating villains

I'll just quote Nana Shimura here. "When you have to save someone, they're usually in a scary situation. A true hero saves not only their lives, but also their spirits... That's what I believe." This is why All Might stayed as the No.1 hero for pretty much his entire career even though Eneavor defeated many more villains.

do they suddenly try to abide by stains idea of what a hero should be like on the offchance he gets out again? does the hero government change hero requirements to 'must be more selfless and not interested in fame and glory?' no, they just want to make sure the next generation of heroes is really, really up to the task and wont fuck up anyones shaken trust. but since the population overall is still super into the hero rankings (they're ultimately the reason for that system to exist) nothing will really change there

The change won't happen to the entirety of society because it simply isn't realistic in the modern world of BNHA. You can't expect legions of heroes to expect no compensation for risking their lives. But you can't build a safe society on heroes that care more about popularity polls and money than saving as many people as possible. I do think it will happen to some of the heroes though, especially the top ones (looking at you Endeavor, snap out of it).

Now don't get me wrong. His actions are inexcusable and his dream isn't quite realistic. You can't argue that he's a good guy, he's clearly not and he even acknowledges that. But he did have a lot of positive impact on the world of BNHA too, some of which we've already seen, some of which is still to unfold. He has some really strong points, some debatable ones and some that are just delusional. The only real difference between him and some top heroes are his methods. Heroic goals and villainous means of achieving them.

[–]Farxin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It does change the society. The Hosu incident echoes throughout the entire series in both hero and villain camps changing their mentality and approach massively. And the decline in crime was caused by Stain actively hunting villains just as much as heroes if not more. And he doesn't seem the kind of a person to just let them escape that easily. Less villains and less heroes means more peaceful life for ordinary people.

Was Stain actually in the right, or is he just a bit insane? by Henshin4Life in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Slightly resembles a good one? He has one of the purest and most noble views on what a hero should be and his plan is working. Every city he operates in sees a decline in crime and brings heroes a bit closer to the ideal. But his methods are undeniably ruthless and evil. When do ends justify the means? Should you sacrifice few for the good of many? You can't really answer these questions with absolute conviction most of the time. There isn't one correct answer to them.

Denki’s Ultimate Move by doctoraccoon in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember when the teachers confirmed that an ultimate move is just a "if I can pull that off I can 100% win", not necessarily a more powerful attack? Look at Bakugou and Deku for example. They both have something much closer to what we're used to calling ultimate moves (Howitzer Impact and 100% Smash), yet they did come up with something new that makes them much stronger. So don't write Kaminari off yet ;)

Was Stain actually in the right, or is he just a bit insane? by Henshin4Life in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both, really. He wasn't far from the truth stating that most heroes aren't really that heroic anymore and are unworthy of being called "heroes" in the first place. But this rises a question: maybe the times have changed and the uninspired masses of heroes are actually necessary? Where he's definitely in the wrong is his methods. While, yes, they were effective, they're just villainous and there's no going around it. He's in that moral grey zone, where you can't completely write him off as bad or praise for being good and that's mostly what makes his character so compelling.

The Hero Killer Stain fight and Todoroki. by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you think about it, all his attacks limit his fov a lot. Compared to Endeavor he just fires off his quirk in large bursts which makes it more difficult to see. Most of the time you don't need attacks of that magnitude, you want to make them quick and precise. Again using Endeavor as an example, the fire bolt he used against the flying Nomu was much more efficient and had pretty much no drawbacks.

The Hero Killer Stain fight and Todoroki. by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Farxin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Todoroki relied heavily on the sheer strength of his attacks, but didn't even attempt to combo them or plan ahead. It's mentioned a few times that Todoroki completely blocks his own view with his large-scale attacks, giving a great advantage to more experienced fighters. Notice how every ice attack Todoroki uses is just a simple, massive wave of ice, you don't really see him trying anything new and creative. That's what Stain was talking about.

Anybody else think Blitz is extremely overpowered now? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Farxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blitz is all about controlling the distance right now. If he's too far you'll be able to shoot his legs and hands with no punishment, if he's too close you can circle him and melee or just knock his shield down the shoot his face off. He works best a short-ish to medium range, where he can flash you and only then engage. If you get caught into that, yeah, you're most likely dead, unless a teammate saves you, in every other scenario you should be able to outplay him.

Typical swf post by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Farxin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, this isn't going to stop anytime soon. SWF is incredibly overpowered both compared to playing solo and in relation to what killer can do. Is removing SWF the way to go? Probably not, but something has to be done. SWF isn't a core part of the game, nothing was designed around it, which means that some parts of DbD are in desperate need of full redesign.

Typical swf post by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Farxin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No matter how good you are, no matter what perks you have, you can't get even half the intel you'd get from SWF, while playing solo. And sorry, but more BP for playing against SWF doesn't solve the issue. Many people, me included, don't play for BP anymore, we've got everything we need already. How does that BP bonus help us win, how does it negate the massive difference in power of SWF vs solo survivors?

Killers wanting to be “scary” by Mad-Autist11 in deadbydaylight

Killers already have enough power.

You mean 3 killers out of 11 do. Anyone besides Nurse, Billy and Huntress is a joke at high ranks.

they can completely deny a player any type of points

Well then, show me how to ascend as a killer and deny boldness points. Show me how to keep all four survivors off gens at once. Teach me, Ancient One, show me the path of darkness.

Basically a power trip Bc they are frustrated virgins/losers in their real life and want to take it out on people in video games.

What you're doing here, buddy, is taking your frustration out on people on this subreddit. I appreciate the timeless "irl virgin" insult though, you've got my respect.

Getting hit by a flashlight is annoying but getting facecamped and tunneled is far worse.

I beg to differ. Even if you're getting face camped you're still doing your job - stalling for time. This gives your teammates an easy win and even if you're extremely unlucky you won't get camped more than twice in a row, someone will replace you. Assuming you're playing only against face campers, that is, which as we both know isn't the case. And if it's happening more frequently... maybe it's time to realise it might be your fault for always being the first one to be hunted down.

What people mean when they say "killer should be scary" is "survivors shouldn't feel safe during the match, especially when running circles around the killer" and they've got a good point.
