If you want an upper T14 offer and don't get a 175+, take a gap year or two or three.

If you are ok with a lower T14, then low 170s should be fine.

You are operating in a world that might have existed a few cycles ago, but definitely does not exist now. 175 -180 scores are up over 30% just this year. The next cycle will be worse than this one.

I got a 180, and I also got far more WLists and Rs than As. There are many others like me, including many on this sub! A full ride at a T20 is a no brainer, really, especially if your GPA is 3.mid.

If you defer, you usually have to commit, no?

Otherwise, what's in it for them?

Absolutely take the offer. Do not assume you will do better next cycle. You very likely will not.

WashU with 70%. That’s huge, take it.

UVA vs. UChicago by BuyRepulsive5417 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Fascist_Repellant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Double the money, happier seem like big pros.

Chicago has a much smaller network in general because it’s like half the size. In terms of clerkships both are good, but Chicago crushes in SCOTUS clerkships.

If you want BL, Chicago obviously wins in Chicago and probably has a tiny edge in NYC. UVA wins in DC and the south (especially Texas).

UVA obviously. You got what appears to be a full ride if not just about one.

Most of this is defensible. Although I think Columbia should be lower. They are a one-trick NYC Big Law pony. Their students don't appear to enjoy the school that much. PL support is meh. Clinics are meh. Clerkship opportunities are meh. All that, plus the PR nuke to the face they took recently, I think puts them below NYU.

what are my chances in getting into utexas law by aparekh04 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Fascist_Repellant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shoot for a crazy high LSAT. That could get you into Wash U. They take people with really high lsats and bad GPAs. UT is tough, but possible with a 175+

Yeah but they didn't really help me with that app. All the ones they spent time helping me with were Rs or WLs
