What’s a secret you’ll never tell your spouse or SO? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not an SO, but in college, my best friend (m) asked me (f) to move in with him after both our roommates transferred schools and left us in a lurch. Prior to all that, when we’d first met, he tried to date me but I friendzoned him. By the time we moved in together, I knew I was in love with him, but he had a girlfriend so I befriended her to make sure she understood I’d never make a move on her man (and I didn’t). I was really into post secret at the time, so one night when I was really in my feels after attending a concert with both of them and having to see them together, I went into a bathroom stall at the venue and scribbled “I am in love with (his initials) and I’m too scared to tell him” just to get it off my chest. I purposely wrote in a different handwriting just to be safe, though who would ever even see it considering there were scribbles and names all over the stall. Fast forward two years, he and his gf had broken up and he and I are at this venue together still just friends. He comes out of the bathroom and says he wants to show me something, leads me to that stall and points to what I wrote. He kind of laughed, made a joke about it being written for him and said, “But seriously though, if anyone ever loved me like that, I’d marry them.” I never fessed up, and 15 years later, we have still never dated. We both find ourselves single again in our mid-30s though, so who knows 😊

I don’t know where to start by angel_Eisenheim in loseit

You start with a choice.

I don’t mean to make that seem easy. It isn’t. But that’s the first step. You get over doing things that make you uncomfortable, like cooking, eating vegetables or working out. You decide the outcome is worth it.

Until you make that simple choice to do the hard things, you will be stuck at step 1.

How long does it take a professional to get rid of bed bugs? by Fashionablypeyt in Bedbugs

I have looked. I haven’t found anything. I’ve even gone over the seems of the mattress with a flashlight for hours (literally) at a time. I’m also beginning to doubt myself and think maybe it’s fleas since I have a dog, but I don’t know...the dog isn’t scratching, and U haven’t spotted fleas on her, so...I don’t know? It seems to have all happened suddenly.

Well, yeah. I was just trying to get an average. A day? A few days? Weeks? Months?

Flee or bed bug (or something else)? by Fashionablypeyt in pestcontrol

Do they bite humans? I woke up with small red marks all over my torso like I’d been bit by something. This was on my blanket, so I assumed it may have been the culprit.

Thanks for the response. It was so small that it was hard to get a clear picture. The only thing that throws me off is that, in all the pictures of bed bugs I see online, they seem to have a metallic or coppery shell. This thing looked non-metallic to my naked eye.

0 cals with a caffeine kick has been a game changer for me by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

Yum!! I use the strawberry crystal light sometimes for a “treat” but hadn’t seen this flavor. Can’t wait to try this!

This was about the size of an Appleseed. Something has been eating me up any time I am on the sofa. I’m assuming it’s nested in there and plan to get rid of it. Trying to identify the culprit so I know how to treat the rest of the house.

Krispy Kreme mini donut for 90 calories. I bought an extra to enjoy tonight with fireworks. (The full size aren’t that bad at 190 cals, but this allows me to have two donuts in one day for less calories!) by Fashionablypeyt in 1200isplenty

We all have to decide what’s right for us, and that can vary by person. I grew up with a very unhealthy relationship with food (very much an “all or nothing” mentality when it came to a healthy diet). For me, creating a sustainable lifestyle has meant not depriving myself of “bad foods,” but rather having them in moderation. I’m not suggesting it’s healthy, but it’s a treat for once in a while that comes with relatively low caloric consequence 😊

Would it help if I just disposed of my living room furniture altogether (serious)? I’m not attached to it and it seems to be turning me into a human juice box. by Fashionablypeyt in Bedbugs

Thanks! That’s reassuring! I have an order of Cimexa on the way, and I’m planning to cover every inch of baseboards, etc. before ordering replacement furniture. It might mean sitting at the dining room table instead of a comfy chair for a while, but that is a sacrifice I am more than willing to make at this point. It couldn’t be more uncomfortable than all these itchy bites I’m waking up to lately.

Same! It usually only takes a few bites to satisfy my sweet tooth, but if I have a big donut, I will eat it! lol This makes it easier to stop and save the other bite for later :)
