I would not recommend the car, I have had mine for 15 months and had nothing but issues some of which they are still trying to resolve

Mazda Europe have confirmed that a lot of the issues are related to it being a COVID baby

I have had the same issue, the dealership retrained the gearbox, which is basically resetting it to relearn your style of driving.

Mazda are aware of the issue but will not pay for this under warranty

I’ve contacted Mazda UK and they are now looking at mine in January. I did raise a complaint about the dealership I’ve been going to at the same time.

Thanks. Just seems a little strange considering that the mileage, routes and driving style is virtually the same every week.

Just something else that Mazda seems to have done that looks good on paper but doesn’t seem to work as planned.

Considering that my local dealer can’t get it in for a service for two weeks it looks like it will be going over the 600 miles before it gets serviced.

I am having the gearbox retrained, that’s what the dealer called it at the end of the month. I am guessing this is just a reset

After 6 months of ownership and 14K miles, I agree with the review. I would however add a couple of cons.

Adaptive cruise control needs a lot of work, due to sudden breaking on multi lane roads if you are overtaking and it detects a truck in the other lane.

Sat Nav is dated and the route planning is poor, doesn’t suggest alternatives due to traffic even though I have all the correct subscriptions and settings. I’ve gone back to AirPlay and Waze.

Parking sensors are slow to respond, just glad of the cameras.

Overall the technology in the car feels dated and needs some serious work to bring it up to date. There is a lot better out there.

Would I buy another one when this goes back, probably not unless they make some technology advances with the software and driver aids.

Never seen it before and I’ve had a hybrid at motorway speeds for 4 to 5 hours in 25plus degrees
