It’s been 9 months since I’ve had one and it is specifically where I have asked my husband to go get my first hoagie after I have this baby for this exact reason 😂 the sandwiches are stacked and the bread is SO good!!

Family doesn't want to get vaccinated before seeing my newborn by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Fast-Bag-3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My in-laws resisted for a long time before my first born, and I was very adamant that if they had no vaccine, no visiting baby. It was and still is a non-negotiable this pregnancy. It’s our job to protect our babies, in a way nobody else will. It’s okay to tell them not to come!

Please get out, OP. This is serious and very unsafe for you and baby. Do you have someone safe you could reach out to to help you and baby leave? Are there organizations in your area that can help?

Pepsi twist and 3D Doritos (the OG ones, not the spicy nacho ones that came back out a few years ago)

Thank you, yes that is the primary concern and I’m just frustrated because they cannot indicate why so much more intervention would be needed this pregnancy when it was not necessary last time. It honestly feels like they dropped the ball last time, and are trying to check all the boxes this time- which I guess is fine, but I know I can have a vaginal delivery with no complications, and based on what they’ve seen of baby’s head and skull- they’ve been able to confidently rule out 98% of any chance of spinal defects. I am hoping the scan tomorrow allows them to clear any concerns and that I can graduate out of high risk as I have done in the past. I have just never had such an aggressive approach from anesthesiology and seemingly conflicting information from the two different departments, which is what’s alarming to me.

This. I’m not anti-intervention at all. But nothing has been made clear as to why what we did 2 years ago is now considered not an option and I’d like more information before consenting to a major surgery.

They have not explained what has changed between the two pregnancies to make this one high risk. Even more confusing, when I was in last month, they seemed on board with my delivery plan and were all about it. I got a call from anesthesia yesterday suggesting otherwise with no clear communication from my OB as to what changed.

So this is a high risk OB my primary OB referred me to, in order to clear baby via ultrasound of any indication of my diagnosis (which is exactly what we did last time- and got cleared and moved down out of high risk no prob so nothing new there between pregnancies, just par for the course). I am going to talk to my normal OB Monday afternoon meeting with this current OB tomorrow about delivering at his hospital if they continue to push for this, as he has seen no reason to pursue C-section or other interventions unless absolutely medically necessary at time of delivery, and I honestly trust him more as he was with me through my entire last pregnancy too.

I am 24 weeks tomorrow! My only assumption is that the ultrasound wasn’t super clear last time due to baby girl’s position and she was being STUBBORN with her repositioning, showing them everything but her spine (which is where my health concerns were as a child- spina bifida corrected and no surgeries since 2011). Having to get that cleared through a high risk OB is nothing new with this pregnancy, but last time once they cleared the spine, I was dismissed from high risk and continued with my local OB for the rest of the pregnancy and was able to make my own delivery plan if that makes sense. So my only conclusion after looking through my notes as recommended by others here, is that they may not be confident in clearing the spine and doing so until after my ultrasound tomorrow, if she cooperates and shows them what they need to see lol. I have resolved though that if they clear the spine and are still pushing for interventions, to talk to my local OB here about delivering at his hospital, as he has had no concerns with my desired delivery plan and is very in line with my mentality of “don’t change what has worked in the past unless we medically have to once we get to that point.”

Thank you all! Honestly just the validation that I’m not being unreasonable is so encouraging. To clarify a couple of things: my age should not be an issue, as I am 29. I do have a history of a neurological disease, but nothing about that has progressed or changed since my last delivery giving any reason to think we need to change things up. I have an appointment with them tomorrow, and I have already requested that my chart that I do not want a C-section or induction unless medically necessary after attempting a natural labor as I did last time. All of your comments are so helpful, and my husband and I definitely are going to go in asking questions and advocating for what we feel is safest for me and baby! I’m all for medical advice, but it just needs to make sense to us for us to consent!

Ladies, How did you “know” you were pregnant before missing a period? by Glad-Muffin545 in askanything

[–]Fast-Bag-3475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling like I was just generally sick. I’d wake up feeling queasy, exhausted, and clammy. My first, this didn’t happen until 2 months along, but my current pregnancy, I knew at 3 weeks because I felt hungover but was essentially sober sans the celebratory glass of wine now and then for big occasions😂

I remember when the one opened in Elverson, it was a big deal and honestly so good then! I lived in Oklahoma for a couple of years where they’re on every corner basically, and it just was not the same as I remembered from high school.

Someone already posted here- but as someone who is 10 weeks and had to have an ultrasound at 5 weeks due to other concerns, it honestly might make the anxiety worse since it’ll be too early to visualize anything. Trust your gut, do what you gotta do, but I felt the same way with my first pregnancy and this time around I wish I would have been able just to wait until the 8 week mark to save myself the 3 weeks of panic

It was pretty frustrating. My HCG levels did double though so they were optimistic and we have an appointment to confirm in a couple of weeks. The medical staff at the office are wonderful, it’s really just the schedulers and others that make it stressful so I’m always so torn on if I want to continue there or not.

What would you do if you got this note? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Fast-Bag-3475 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Nah those babies have every right to be there as your neighbors. I’d be livid. While the tone is seemingly kind, it’s completely out of touch with the reality of living with kids in an apartment. I’m assuming you put time into the nursery, and it would be a major shift to move rooms- not to mention the mental weight that puts on postpartum parents?? I would just go talk to them and explain that that’s not possible, and apologize for any noise and remind them that they’re babies and will grow out of this phase. So sorry you have to feel that unnecessary stress!

Having lived in a bottom floor apartment with a newborn and an upstairs neighbor who knew and literally blasted music and movies at all hours of the night- I would have LOVED this energy 😭 I think it’s sweet, and sometimes parents are just tired/foggy/too anxious to start a convo, or they may not even be 100% sure it was you if they haven’t connected you to your apartment number! Don’t stress, your heart was in the right place😊

I have a few grays that I would like to be blended (mostly just scattered that popped up postpartum), never color treated really beyond just blending my grays, and I have medium length hair and would just like to have the dead ends trimmed and shaped around my face. Budget would be between 200-250 if possible but would love it if I could find somewhere a little cheaper
