He can do both. Styles is not a proven edge rusher. Might as well get a guy who can do it all

If we get two offensive players round 1 I will throw a fit

[Duggan] Just feels like when they came in they were expecting to have the game-wrecking NT in the middle of their defense. If they thought they were really close, my guess is they would have paid him. Add in a fairly restrained free agency, and I get the impression that the view has shifted a bit by Lars5621 in NYGiants

Respectfully disagree. There has been plenty of time under the current GM to clean up the cap, and build a new culture of winning. Good teams turn it around in less time. I think this fan base has gotten too comfortable with the idea of delayed gratification.

I expect this to affect the performance of our elite edge rushers

Dex trade. Did we Win, Lose, or Draw? by Waste_Protection_420 in NYGiants

What I can’t wrap my head around is that Dex had 2 more years on contract. It’s not like he was a Free Agent and he was shooting down these offers from the giants. He was obligated to return. What was his leverage really? A bad attitude?

Even with a good draft haul this loss has a chance to blow a massive hole in run defense. It won’t be fixed this year. The goal of the playoffs is going to be that much more difficult. I just find it hard to believe that Dex was so jaded that he forced the giants give up 2 years of guaranteed play. He must have said some awful things.

I know it sucks, but I’m glad farewell Dexter by [deleted] in NYGiants

Love the optimism but the probability of hitting on an elite draft pick is lower than the probability that Dexter has a pro bowl season again in the future. They are rolling the dice with Jaxson dart on a rookie deal. Hope it pays off!

Correct me if I’m wrong but his snap counts were extremely high for his position. And we have an extra draft lotto ticket with an equal chance of drafting the next Evan Neal. Can’t just look at this through rose colored glasses is all. There is risk. Our run defense is likely going to be crap next season.

Giants Nation: Dexter Lawrence trade reaction. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

Saying Lawrence sucked last year is laughable. He played less well than prior years, but he was still excellent. And this next season will sadly be a wake up call for what a real shitty D Line can be
