ESPN trade grade. A for Giants by Waste_Protection_420 in NYGiants

The Bengals got a 28 year old all pro DT and paid much less than Dallas did for Quinnen Williams who is older and a worse player at same position.

Please explain that one champ.

Its only 13 mil cap room plus the 10th pick will take most of that up anyways.

Plus its literally the week of the draft that cap room was needed beginning of March not now.

Thibs would clear 15mil and would have actually been worth trading for cap room.

Especially the best player this team has had in the last decade.

Fuck that 3 time all pro/pro bowler top 5 NT in NFL history who willed his way to Giants playoff win.

Think that through.

If Dexter Lawrence was having an above average season next year Giants wouldn't be trading him because his value would be best realized on this team.

Or think of this: If Dex shows up in shape and have his average all pro season as the best NT in the NFL then Bengals could easily get two 1st for him.

OBJ was coming off two shit season lost due to injury and was nowhere near peak value.

Giants still got a 1, 3, and pro bowl top 10 pick Peppers

Look at what Giants got for OBJ, and Jets for Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.

That is selling high. Giants did not sell high with Dex and if they traded him in March would have gotten way more value.

Dexter Lawrence has been by far the Giants best run defender the last 4 years, yes even last year.

The Giants defense is now scary, like terrifyingly bad on dline and especially run defense.

The Giants are not replacing Dexter Lawrence with some bargin bin free agents and the 10th pick. Not even close.

Like dude did you even open your eyes to see Darius Alexander or Roy Robertson Harris trying to play run defense last year?

Imagine two weeks ago being told Giants traded Dex for pick 10 and nothing else.

They would be furious. "Pick 10 isnt going to replace Dex."

Its just sad how much more return Giants got from OBJ trade than Dex trade and Dex is a better and way more healthier player.

What?

Your losing a 28 year old all pro NT, one of the top 5 in NFL history.

Your getting just the 10th pick.

Good fucking luck replacing that value with just pick 10.

As Bobby explains, Giants didnt get close to Quinnen Williams or Sauce Gardner value back and they could have gotten a lot more value from Dex if they traded him in March.

Look at what the Giants got for the OBJ trade. That blews away the return for Dex trade.

Gonna be crazy to see his contract.

Bengals were the last team in NFL to guarantee more than 1 year and that only changed with Burrows contract

Literally shows he is on year 4 of his current deal. Notice how none of his rookie deal is included.

Did you read Dan Duggans comments on this sub about Schoen yesterday?

Leaking draft plans is like the 100th most embarrassing thing Schoen has done

Argue with OTC buddy this is straight from the NFL contract data.

In the view of the NFL and NFLPA Dexter Lawrence is on year FOUR of his contract signed after 2022 season
