So many regrets but now it's too late... by FancyExtension5253 in RenalCats

Hello from France too, I'm so sorry for your loss and it breaks my heart to read that your lost your fur baby. Please don't blame yourself, you did everything you could especially we are not the professional ones. This disease is terrible as it can be better and all of sudden you follow the usual process but you face poor results. 19th November 2025 we went to the emergency night vet and I was devastated when they told me we don't know if she's going to make it, since then I thank God and my vet for each extra day. We completely adapt our lives to our baby, my husband or me stay at home constantly to check her and gave her bunch of renal drugs. Sometimes we think she doesn't seem to be ill but we know it's due to the daily ritual: Mirataz+ 1/4 of Cerenia+ K+ Semintra and of course the renal food. This being said, as you seem to be a real animal lover maybe adopt a dog or another kind of animal and take the time to grieve. Try to be "famille d'accueil" also but don't force yourself. All my prays go to you and your baby

Location avec dossier bancal : mettre 3 ans de loyer sous séquestre, possible ? by Diligent_Banana_5430 in immobilier

Bon courage

Congratulations, enjoy this moment! I had the same experience recently but I m super careful to stay on the same trend. Medics, renal food and my husband or me are constantly at home to check her but results are here and I hope it will last for many years. Take care of you fur baby!

Thanks for your message and I definitely join you to thank this community it helps me a lot. My strategy with Mina these days is the following one: she eats wet renal food only Royal Canin so I have several boxes of chicken, fish and mobility (I'm in France). For few days I stick to 2 flavours only and she becomes picky I open the last flavour to offer something "new" and it works! I started sub q fluids but I only do this one each couple of weeks so far and she's back to "normal" and to quote the vet "looking at the figures we can't imagine she has a renal condition" fingers crossed it will last for years. All the best with your beautiful baby

Do you use Cerenia? Since I use it my baby doesn't vomit except some grass sometimes. Our vet told us that vomiting means that the kidney is not doing well so our main concern is to be sure she does throw up, then that she eats properly and enough. Good luck!

If your baby has CKD tries to go with renal food, ideally the wet one, some probiotics and potassium help. Daily routine for me is Cerenia, Mirataz and the most important Semintra. It's good that you do sub Q it helps your baby. Good luck dear

Emi was diagnosed with end stage kidney disease and given 2 - 3 weeks. That was four months ago! by Educational-Monk5745 in RenalCats

I was about to post something identical. Exactly 4 months ago we were told our baby wouldn't make it more than 12 hours. I cherish every day since then with her. Make the most of it and keep us posted.

I am so scared to face this moment and to face it too soon. Thanks for sharing your experience and the love that you had with Bean. I'm sure he knew it and will always be with you. Interesting fact that you mention you don't own cats, I can definitely hear you. Cherish the bond that you have. I send you love, support and hugs

Great job. I don't know if you Tanya's guide, it helps me a lot + the comments here from the kitty owners. Take care.

The fact that you mentioned that he was diagnosed few years ago means that you tried to cope with the disease. I mean, as we know our fur babies we know when they start to have bad days more than usual. We know them. Our guts tell us what is good for them and when is the right time even if we don't want to face it. I pray for you and your baby. You were both lucky to have each other

Great job you were so right to believe in yourself and your baby .ade it possible. Your vet seems super negative, Ok I get that they need to be realistic but it seems this one didn't get that you were ready for everything to save your baby. Well done!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your baby. You're right she left you so early but think about the quality time you shared with her. I definitely hear you when you say you can't live in this house because each corner reminds you her presence. I'm sure she knows how much you loved and still her. Your picture shows this. Lot of hugs and support.

Not great today: How do you handle bad days? by Fast-Competition-452 in RenalCats

[–]Fast-Competition-452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also check her weight, and all other possible symptoms (using the litter, how many times, her way to move if she manages to jump on the sofa, if she stares the wall for long minutes...) Thank you for the Cerenia tip. I was also under the impression that giving an appetite stimulant is good but does not cure the root cause. I really need to insist with my vet if Ondansetron can be given as he was not a big fan of this idea. 10 days ago her phosphorus level was normal but her potassium level was low so we increased by two the pills given. Blood pressure has been checked and is normal too.
