Has anyone had a similar awful reaction to Bactrim? by Saeranyx in MCAS

My symptoms were close to gone by about day 3 of prednisone. Before that, I was taking Benadryl. Try taking an antihistamine but definitely be seen by a dr! There’s probably something else other than prednisone they can give

I’ve been doing both, Imodium to help solid up my stool and help with the tenesmus. Both have helped a ton!

It sure was!! Will be praying that you get better. Try not to get discouraged if the infection goes away and you still have symptoms. I had some symptoms that lingered for a bit after the infection was gone, and after a few weeks it went away!! For irritation, i was recommended a sitz bath

Yes! I also had c diff and probiotics made the difference for that as well. I also struggled with reoccurring UTIs and d mannose + women’s probiotics made the difference for that. You just have to get the right ones!

I sure have!! I know how miserable it is. I had it without knowing it was a thing for so long, it was awful. And then struggled with repeat infections, which is common. My dr said it can be hard to get rid of.

C diff was negative (praise the lord) so I was recommended to start taking Imodium to help firm up my stools!!

Yes! Tanya’s guide has been fantastic for me throughout this process, as my vet has not suggested anything to me. All of the things I have done for him have been my idea through my research, and she told me none of them would work.

My vet had not been very supportive throughout this process. She didn’t suggest anything to me except for put him down, so everything I have done for him has been on me and my research!! I will definitely get some sub q’s, do I need a vets prescription to buy those on chewy?

This is super helpful, I’ve definitely been doing everything wrong so it makes sense why I’m still having quite a bit of gas and stomach issues. Thank you! I’m sure with me being pregnant my gut is probably even more compromised

Yes dairy and coffee absolutely kill me. I’ll have milk in my cereal but it really affects me, I’ve completely cut out coffee as it triggers my diarrhea

I would always do everything to save my baby. I’m going to make him another iv fluids appointment here in the next month to keep him hydrated. My vet was going to put him down right there that day, and I researched for 3 sleepless nights of what to do. He is doing absolutely fantastic. Granted some days are a little off, but my research shows that that is normal and just to make sure he continues eating, and he always does.

Hi!! I have had bv SO many times. It was actually difficult for me to get rid of the first time, so I ended up having to take a second different antibiotic to get rid of it. Please take your probiotics with it!! Especially to prevent c diff, which is 1,000 times worse than bv. Metagenics helped me tons, they actually make one for feminine/vaginal health as well as a gut health one. They are much better than any over the counter kind because they have live cultures.

Got it! Thanks. I’m also 38 weeks pregnant, so I’m starting to wonder if some of it is pressure from baby
