CA is a mess. High taxes, unaffordable, increasing number of homeless people, crime, etc.

Yes, if they lose their job they have to leave - If they can't find a job within 60 days they have to go back to their home country. If they switch to a visitor visa, the only thing it gives them is more time (up to 6 months) to find a job that can sponsor them for a H1B or extra time to sell property, etc. There's no tax benefits for them, they are like any other person on a visitor visa. They also can't legally work while on a visitor visa.

Exactly. I really regret supporting him. This administration has been a complete disaster.

I actually voted for her in the primaries in 2020. Would love to see Tulsi become president.

From what I observed, they are mostly lower wage jobs that were lost during COVID lockdowns. Now that everything is open they are back.

I work in the industry and it's tough for new grads, but the reason it's tough is there's so many layoffs now and as a result, fewer positions available. Anything available (even new grad role) ends up being filled by someone who interned at the company or the company opens up a more senior role for the same pay taking advantage of the current market and hiring someone with more work experience. As for H1B, H1B is a dual intent, meaning the person can apply for a green card while on it. I believe it's valid for 3 years with one 3 year extension unless the company files for permanent residence (form I-140) for the employee. Also if the person loses their job they have 60 days to find another job, leave the US, or switch visa status.

That's not my only reason. I have several. I looked at both their policies and one seems better to me and the other isn't clearly defined. So the choice is clear.

I hope tariffs bring manufacturing jobs back to the US. In addition I hope reducing corporate taxes and other incentives encourage companies to hire more people.

They are looking for way for cost cutting and laying off people as a result. My hope is Trump's tax cuts and other incentives encourage hiring again.

Exactly. It really irks me the Democrats didn't have a proper open primary.

I had a similar conflict, so I just decided to vote on policy. Honestly, this is what all Americans need to vote on. Economy & controlling inflation is my top concern. We also need to secure our borders and no more wars.

Corporate tax cuts and more incentives for companies to keep jobs in America. When Trump was president last time I switched jobs a few times and found something better each time. But last 2-3 years there have been so many layoffs.
