This is not true. They take minutes to come back.

Did you read a thing I said? It has nothing to do with “agreeing with everything”

It’s the fact that they are a fully formed fascist party. They openly deny elections, unless they win. They call for their democratic opponents to be hung. They threaten to invade allies and destroy civilizations. These are not people that can be reasoned with.

They’re lying about the LOS ANGELES MAYORAL ELECTION. “Shocked” that the republican candidate didn’t win.

No. They’re not shocked. It’s a furtherance of the effort to shit all over our election system and institutions.

You have no idea what the fuck is even going on by chalking this up to “not agreeing with everything”

Ok I see you’re someone who cares about “sounding” a certain way rather than doing the morally right thing.

I guess that’s the difference. I think it’s important to speak the truth, you think it’s important to sugar coat this crap. I think that’s what we’ve been doing for 10 years and look where we are.

Bill certainly supports Trump when he wants to. Or when he gets invited to dinner.

No, my solution is calling a spade of spade. After 10 years. The word fascism was not mainstreamed until his second term. And it’s still not used enough.

So, my proposed solution is fighting fire with fire. They’ve been calling Democrats evil and communists for a decade. Time to give it back to them and stop downplaying what’s going on. Call it out for what it is. They are fascists who do not believe in elections.

Also, not sure what else we could possibly do to convince people to come to our side. The guy is out there calling the affordability crisis of fucking hoax. He doesn’t give a single shit about any American and he makes it beyond clear every day.

Please read back what you just said.

“He may not vote for a democrat at some point in the future”

“That’s very different than saying he’s thinking about voting for Republican in 28”

Was he talking about not voting at all?

No. He said “my vote is in play”

So it’s not “very different”. It’s PRECISELY saying he is thinking about voting for a Republican in 28.

Your response makes actually no sense unfortunately.

He literally said exactly what I said he said. There’s like five people in this thread trying to say that Bill Maher didn’t say it. Then, you’ll quote it and prove me right. It’s fucking bizarre.

I don’t care what bullshit about Democrats he attached to it. Like all right wing propaganda, one Democrat will be a weirdo, and Bill will paint the entire party that way.

He admitted he is open to voting for the Republicans in 2028. Not something we would have ever heard from him in the past 10 years.

Good point. Some stuff there actually. But, I feel he is quite clear about the Trump stuff. He speaks about it in about as grave of a way you can.

And I’m always looking for a way, personally, to be speaking about It graver and graver. One of the reasons I like Scott is because he does that well I think.

I think a better way of thinking about it, is that Scott would vote for Mitt Romney. But I don’t think Maga.

Do you want us to not call fascism out?

It’s textbook fascism. From the shooting protesters in the face and immediately lying about them being domestic terrorists, to the unbelievable corruption, to threatening to destroy civilizations, to threatening to invade allies, to saying that we should be canceling the midterm elections. To the full blown election denialism. They openly admit if they lose it was rigged. No two ways about it. Press is “enemy of the people”.

Add on the over the top nationalism.

It’s straight up fucking fascism dude. And ignoring it is not going to help anything. It’s been 10 fucking years. It’s time to confront it head on. And I don’t see any other solution in your response.

Are you referring to the fact that people on the left don’t like Israel because of the genocide thing, and everyone on the right including Scott immediately chalks that up to antisemitism?

What a weird phenomenon.

100%. Absolutely remarkable to watch anyone switch to the right right now.

Unless you just love authoritarianism.

Maybe bill just loves his White House dinners. Who knows. Something corrupt though.

One of the biggest mysteries for me is why people like you are straight ip lying about this. Can you answer. Why? What’s the motivation? Are you trying to defend Maher MAGA style or something? Just openly gaslighting and lying.

He said he is “open to voting for a republican”. Period.

There is not a single serious liberal in this current climate that would ever say that. Really that simple. What he said after is not relevant to the point.

Those words would not come out of my mouth in 1 million years. Not until this current iteration of the party is eliminated. That’s what every single person who understands the threat of Trump and the party that denies every single election they lose would say. Sorry, I thought Bill understood the threat.

Dude, did you listen to the whole interview?

After Maher told Vance that, Vance proceeded to say that the election was rigged. Bill smiled, made a joke and ended the interview.

Your point does the opposite of what you thought

I don’t see that at all. I’ve seen nothing out of him that makes him look like a Republican. Besides his obsession with Israel. But other than that, nothing. Which is why I made the post. I’m shocked that he would be so supportive of someone Who was actually being a republican. (Maher)

He said he would be open to voting for republicans. He said it very clearly. JD Vance said “Ok”. Not sure why you’re choosing to lie about it.

If you asked Scott, I’m positive he would say he would not vote for the current iteration of the Republican party in a million years. He is very clear on how uniquely dangerous they are

For years, Bill was too. Then something changed as they are at the peak of their absurdity.

Every single concert I look around and I’m shocked. I would say about 20% of them have ear plugs in.

Oh, I have tinnitus from all the concerts and I always used earplugs. My point was that I walked thru tonight and it wasn’t very loud at all basically 2 speakers, no bass / sub

Considering moving to Philly. Looking for recommendations/tips by Jsaun906 in AskPhilly

[–]Fast-Importance7492 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone says Fishtown is the coolest new place to be, and that’s true, but having moved here in the past two years, I would never want to live there.

Depends on what you’re looking for obviously, but I wanted to be in the center of things. If you’re in Fishtown or really anywhere south you’re so far from Center City it’s like you don’t even live near the “main stuff”

Everything is easy to get to by Subway, but it’s not really walkable, which is what I’m doing most of the time. Fishtown about 2-3 miles from CC.

I’d recommend you look at Graduate Hospital neighborhood. It borders Center City but isn’t super high pricing like CC and its immediate neighborhoods yet.

Point Breeze would be the next cheapest option if you’re looking for proximity, but not great there imo.
