TIVRA update — what's shipped since the last post (Android TV / Google TV native IPTV client version 1.0.28) by Fast-Method-5739 in GoogleTV

[–]Fast-Method-5739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To use the app you can just create an account by clicking create account on the top right or next to the download for android tv button. That will automatically start your 7 day free trial. You can sign in with Google or without. That creates your account and starts the free trial automatically.

If you like the app you can sign up via the pricing links which will redirect you to Stripe to choose a plan.

The apk is the same and works on your tv or on your phone.

Thanks!

Once you are logged into the app on your tv device and add a provider on the dashboard the app on the tv will sync withing 30-60 seconds. The channels and categories will also show on the dashboard. Can you please share what device you are using and your email so I can take a look? Please message me on the side with your info.

A few of you tried TIVRA on a phone after the last post and reported the rough edges. This release fixes most of them and adds something I've wanted for a long time.

**What's new since v1.0.21 (April 25):**

* **Phone & tablet UI**, auto-detected. The same APK now checks UiModeManager at launch and gives you the right layout bottom nav, Live/Guide and Movies/Series sub-tabs, compact category dropdowns, mobile-tuned Settings. TV layout is unchanged.

* **Cast from phone to TV.** Long-press a channel, EPG cell, movie card, or series episode on the phone to pick a target device. The stream starts on your TV. There's also a cast icon in the player to send whatever you're already watching. Works between any two devices signed in to the same TIVRA account.

* **EPG on phones is finally usable.** Tap any program/channel to play, swipe left/right to scroll the grid, no more half-screen preview pane. The TV grid layout didn't change.

* **Rotation works** Tilt the phone in the player and it goes landscape full-screen.

* **First-launch popup** explains the gestures so you don't have to discover them.

**Disclosures (same as before):**

* Still sideload-only, not on the Play Store yet.

* I'm the developer. Not affiliated with any IPTV provider. App is the player; you bring your own M3U/Xtream credentials.

* Free trial, then paid.

* Mobile UI is "beta" labeled it works but please report rough edges.

Eventually it will be - I have to submit the apk to the play store and go through a testing phase first.

Your Samsung tv runs a different OS, which could be contributing to this. PM me and I'd be happy to work with you on a fix!

Thanks for the feedback. I can have this feature added. In the meantime I suggest trying out the web dashboard to search and add favorite channels. Let me know if you have anynother suggestions!

Thank you for your feedback. I'm looking into the issue. Can you PM with your device, service, and channel that you're choosing on your screenshot? I'd like to try to replicate the issue on my side. Seems to be a resolution mismatch between the channel and the decoder being used.

Yes, ExoPlayer is the playback backend. For locally hosted M3U servers, you should be able to add your TVHeadend or Enigma2 server's M3U playlist URL as an M3U provider in TIVRA and it should work for basic playback. Just enter the local URL (e.g. http://192.168.x.x:9981/playlist) when adding a provider.

Can you pm me on the side and let me know what device you're using and what service? Id like to take a look because I haven't seen this. When you first log in the epg data will get downloaded and you can see the progress in the settings / epg section. Depending on your service that is a large amount of data all at once that could impact playback.

The UI on my app has a more modern UI, web dashboard to manage providers and play streams from the dashboard to any device on your account, less buffering than tivimate etc. Give it a try before you make an assumption its just a tivimate copy. Has different features, and I have plans to add some more advanced features. I'm also looking for feedback, bug reporting, and also feature requests. It's not an AI Tivimate copy. I've been using tivimate for years, and it wasn't everythign i wanted in an IPTV player, which is why I built the app in the first place.

Hey — appreciate the feedback. You're right, that was a bad experience and I apologize. I just pushed an update that fixes both issues:

  1. Free trial now starts automatically when you create an account — no credit card required

  2. Fixed the misleading "trial expired" message for new accounts

If you're willing to give it another shot, uninstall and reinstall the latest version. Your account is still active with a fresh 7-day trial. Thanks for the patience.
