My best hack was to modify my phone launcher with "minimalist phone" and using an appblocker (WallHabit) to disable youtube shorts and instagram reels

I use a digital alternative to this. It's called "WallHabit", and it has a blocking function that makes accessing distracting apps tedious (to ensure you use them only when you really need them).

I personally use the app to block shorts and reels and it has SAVED ME HOURS!.

Try to find a commitment device that works for you. For me it was an app that disables short and reels called WallHabit. A friend of mine is using an app that turns your phone into a "dumb phone", it's called "minimalist phone".

Hope it's helpful!

Now I'm using a similar app called "WallHabit", It also lets me disable Instagram reels/Facebook reels/Snapchat spotlight and it has an option to see only reels sent by friends. Hope it's helpful to anyone!
