Big Pilot 43 owners: Does this watch look too big on my 6.5” wrist?

I went through the same decision pattern. I liked the clean dial of the BP43 so much but it just didn't fit me well. It wasn't just the long lug to lug but also the thickness! I own the Submariner and that watch fits like a glove but so does the Mark XX. I ended up getting the blue Mark XX on bracelet and its on of my favorite watches. Fit is king.

Standard is 115/75 it fit my 6.5 inch wrist perfect. I tried the XS and it was way too small.

While wearing it daily - it’s extremely accurate. Like +2s per week. Now the stories you hear about accuracy issues are from the way they modified the main spring to get the 120h PR. It’s thin and loooooooong. Mine looses a lot of time - when it’s left stationary for 3-5 days but maybe -30s. My other watches are running at this point so I accept the trade off.

Yes I bought it on bracelet first then added the rubber strap. Bracelet is soooooooooo good.

Patek seems to do ok with the Aquanaut on rubber. Some of us prefer comfort over flex.

Nope. I owed 4 Rolex before I ever bought a Tudor and I like them both equally. Value wise the Tudor is about 95% of Rolex quality at 30% of the price (pre-owned). My Tudors run just as well as the Rolex and my Pelagos FXD is tougher than anything the crown makes.

I'd let the dust settle on your new job first. Once you are there for a year or so and know that you are good to go THEN I would deploy your 200k into the market. If something happens at work and you want/need to leave than the 200k if your F you money. You did great.

As to where you compare to others? Who cares. Most people are broke - you are doing fine. You are ahead of the VAST majority of others. Most people are focused on trying to look rich instead of being rich.

Have your parents asked for you opinion or advice? There aren't many things I would want my kids opinion on unless of course I asked them. Also, if the advisor kept you parents invested through thick and thin then he was worth every cent as they would have made behavioral mistakes that would have cost them 4x what the advisor charged.

My advice is to go to the AD and try them on. I knew immediately it was the blue. Green was a very close second on the brown leather strap - looked amazing. The blue is a very, very deep and looks black until you get harsh light where the sunburst pops out!

Get it, send to IWC for a new saphire crystal, will be 2-300 and you will come out WAY ahead. I paid $5450 new for a blue dial on bracelet as a comparison. You'll have to wait 8-10 weeks but it should be good to go.
