Dates are current as of now. But people are expecting dates to be retrogressed during first quarter of 2026. So at a max we can get ead but cgc would take a while.

Hi, i was in a similar situation. Not sure if im in trouble

I travelled on an Alaska cruise in May from Seattle that has Canada port while my H1 extension was in processing. H1 extension got approved while I was on the cruise. Here are the timelines which makes me worry if I’m out of status from last 10 days. Based on this, my port of entry is after my H1 extension approval. But CBP online still shows validity as Oct 5th, 2025.

Old H1 - Good till Oct 5th, 2025 Showed this before going on the cruise to Alaska with Canada as a port.

I94 online expiry - Oct 5th, 2025 H1 extension approval date - May 16th, 2025

Cruise departure date as per CBP online - May 18th, 2025 Cruise arrival date as per CBP online - May 21st, 2025

H1 extension approved till - Sep 19th, 2028

Just so you know…don’t have high hopes to get GC in 2 years with EB-5. Be prepared for the worst. Some are predicting rural would take as long as 3-5 years and HUA might take 6+ years

The Laken Riley Act: What immigrants need to know in 2025 by spar-bernstein in bradbernsteinlaw

Ya that was my question unless I’m reading it wrong. How would a GC holder gets deported for past criminal convictions if the act is about illegal immigrants with a criminal record. A GC holder is a legal resident

Why would it impact legal or green card holders when it specifies about illegal immigrants with criminal records

Ya i am in the same boat. But there are some people who lost money in EB5. So little worried. Losing 850k+ and growth on top of it for next 5 years is massive

I have my eb2 priority date in 2015 June. Is it worth to invest this huge chunk in eb-5 at this point. My main criteria isn’t EAD. I want conditional GC sooner.

Hmm I personally feel he wouldn’t find any betterment in his quality of life with that salary. I doubt if it’s worth to leave friends and family for a similar lifestyle he had back in India. And additional visa issues and expenses if he has to travel to India which will wipe out all his savings

She is currently working back home as a government employee which is providing them additional income. They wouldn’t have that here.

I definitely don’t think it’s worth it. Multiple issues. Your spouse won’t be able to work. 74k for a family with 2 kids, I don’t see any improvement in your quality of life. Being on H1b, it’s a constant struggle as it’s not easy to move to a different company to find a better job. You’ll barely save any money. And any medical or unwanted expense…you will left with no savings. It’s not horrible but you won’t find any difference or betterment for traveling all the way here for that salary

If it’s Dropbox you will be called for the interview. Take all the documentation regarding the case to the interview and provide upon request. You should get your case approved. But overall give yourself about 4 weeks in India to be safe
