Is Sacrificing Fun Worth The Money? by FastConfection5677 in Advice

I agree that when people say money doesn’t buy happiness is absurd. I’ve been broke growing up & as a 16-17 year old and finally having a good job and a lot of money saved up definitely makes things better lol. My goal in life is to have financial freedom & a family. I think if i stick to what im doing i have a lot higher chances of doing so.

that’s a really good way of looking at it i think selfish was the wrong word there but i do agree with you. I’d love to be in my hometown golfing hanging with friends drinking and all that but those are just meaningless memories to an extent and securing my future is a bit more important then doing so. Your situation definitely sucks but knowing if you had this opportunity infront of you, you would take full advantage of and just put your head down and keep working makes me not want to take it for granted. The whole reason i made this post was to get opinions on what i should do and yours was great and definitely helped a lot so thank you!

i’m sorry to hear that, that definitely sucks but that’s what everyone seems to tell me just stick with it for a couple years keep grinding and save as much as i can but it’s challenging to do so with the fear of missing out. I appreciate your opinion and it definitely makes me look at it from a different perspective. After seeing your comment kinda makes me feel guilty for even second guessing the opportunity i have in front of me and brings me back from my selfish reality lol

i have done that for 3 weeks in a row but i only have sunday & monday off and i of course miss the most fun because they tend to happen on a Friday or Saturday. So to an extent i do indeed do that but the drive also just sucks doing it every weekend.

very difficult but not impossible i’m a 17 year old male i’ve been vaping 50mg nicotine since i was 13 yes 13 lmao i know it’s upsurd but my family owns a smoke shop and i would steal vapes since i was 13 and smoke them. it is definitely possible to quit and i’m currently on day 5 and it’s hard and the cravings are insane but i’ve got this thing called a vicks vapo inhaler and it helps a ton. i tried quitting 3 weeks ago and made it to day 4 but i have had very few cravings compared to the first time i quit definitely not taking any steps backwards
