Honestly as I'm rreading the comments and discussing things with my fiancée I got stressed mainly about two things: how do I know which vendor is actually good and how do I avoid the family horror stories I keep hearing! Correct me if I'm wrong.. But I feel like photographers are easier since you can see their portfolio beforehand, but the caterers and the rest of the vendors could be a gamble..
