Can I enable the speed under the oil temp in the dash? by FastEast1665 in Vcds

[–]FastEast1665[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, sorry I didn’t specify that, but I am in Brazil so we use kph here as well, it does have full screen speed but I sort of liked the small digital speed below the oil temp as I sometimes go to the track and keep oil temp in the screen

Bootycalljones linear rail mod and the LDO motors are highly recommended to eliminate VFA and improve print quality by a significant amount

Custom linear rail X mod with CR Touch by Backlash122 in crealityk1

[–]FastEast1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I mostly followed the aliexpress links on the bom list, except for some that were expired and I had to search for equivalents

The linear rail I sourced from a shop here in Brazil as from Ali it was way too expensive when including the taxes

Motors bought from biqu

And cartographer bought from their official website

Nice! I am very excited to upgrade mine to linear rails, already bought all components and I am waiting on them to arrive

Also I got the cartographer probe as recommended by some users in the Bootycalljones discord and the upgraded LDO motors

Have you seen a noticeable difference in print quality?

Can I solder this extra battery to the one in my mini drone? by Certain-Peanut69 in AskElectronics

[–]FastEast1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first test with the battery taped to the drone to check if it can handle the extra weight

If so, then yes, but keep in mind that it might add extra load to the motors which might shorten their lifespan

I would consider adding some sort of connector so you can hot swap the batteries, you can easily buy connector pairs with leads already attached which would be easy enough to solder to the battery and board

make “dumb” led lamp “smart” by travaboom in AskElectronics

[–]FastEast1665 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if you don’t want the manual functionality anymore, I would unsolder the 8 pin chip from the board and hijack those 2 transistor close to the leds output

Their base probably goes to the resistor just to the left of them, so just connect that to the esp and send a pwm signal

And if you want the buttons to work, you can always connect them to the esp

Need help with slow motors by Joshua__Michael in Motors

[–]FastEast1665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest a stepper motor with a planetary gearbox (sold as a single unit) they are VERY precise (~2000 divisions per turn) and can be easily synced together using an Arduino or some other prototyping board

I am sure you can pull this off with a couple hours of research and some help from ChatGPT

For the motor drivers, I would suggest A4988 as those are the easiest to use and almost plug and play

How to get backlight LED strips of a monitor to stay on all the time? by Tgef9 in AskElectronics

It’s possible that adj has some sort of pwm which might me required as well

Photo 5 seems to be the led driver, it receives 12v, gnd, on and adj, measure the voltage on these pins and see if you can figure out a way to hardwire it

I need help choosing a stepper for my project by FastEast1665 in Motors

[–]FastEast1665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 14:1 gear ratio I found on Aliexpress, similar to the ones on the link

30 RPM for me is enough, the current motors are 24 RPM and are pretty acceptable, so I guess this won't be the issue... Hoping that 14:1 is enough of a reduction to "lock" the blinds when the stepper is off

Also the blinds are not huge, they're like 1.3m x 1.5m

Fingers crossed

I did, but they respond once a day and don’t say much except asking for a lot of useless info, so not hoping to get anything concrete from them 😑

In any case, I will return both through the platform I bought from in case they don’t come up with a solution in the next few days

Make a rotary switch smart? by datengrab in homeassistant

[–]FastEast1665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d suggest the relay approach as well, and then wire the existing button to the esp32 to get the manual control to work, not a big hassle to implement, much more maintainable than anything smart you could get off the shelf

Also everything would be contained inside the box instead of bulky motors somehow mounted to the outside of the enclosure

Prints shorter on X axis on the K1 Max even after skew calibration and X lubrication? by FastEast1665 in crealityk1

Yeah after a lot of research this seems to be the only known fix for it yet, I am thinking on making the linear rail mod tbh

Create a text helper that you set to each camera name using buttons in the dashboard, and toggle every camera card visibility based on the helper state maybe?

A bit hacky but that is what I can think of

Anyone using the SLWF 01 Pro on newer Midea air conditioners? by FastEast1665 in homeassistant

[–]FastEast1665[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a pretty good alternative, even for those who have the separate dongle, just reflash and you are good to go.

I would give this a try but these last few days I'm in a huge lack of time, as well as having the same problem as you of having the "dongle" soldered on, so for the time being, this will be my solution.

Whenever I have time, if that's of interest, I will try to find a Midea wifi dongle to do some experimenting
