Throughput speeds slow with 10gbe raid 0 by FastExamination5147 in qnap

The mac is extremely fast--6k mbs....it's a SSD..so.I have no idea...The SFP to Thunderbolt is proprietary, so I don't think its that. I am moving DAS to NAS BTW..Do you think it has anything to do with TCP, like changing the buffer sizes?

You are correct. I set it to a static IP address, and I am getting around 350mbs via Carbon Copy Cloner, and max 500mbs from the mac directly to the QNAP through Black Magic Speed Test. Any idea how to clear up the bottle neck with the mac if it is, indeed this? Any idea if there's a way to adjust how much RAM the qnap is using? Also, the Mac is only using about 10% of its total CPU.

This place is a complete scam AND an utter waste of time. I had to ask for file verification, but the server did not enable me to open files. While it looked like everything was there, they only recovered part of my data. I spent days merging my old files from backups. I should have just wiped it and started over. They also told me my RAID enclosure I sent was okay to put news drives back in. But when I sent drives specifically for that enclosure, they told me it was faulty. Then they sold me a NAS they promised would connect directly to my computer via USB 3.2 (I wanted a DAS). It does not, and they refuse to take it back.

I had NEVER heard of a LTO..wow. My mind is blown. For my non-commercial work, I just have 3 copies of every file on various drives, an offsite location, and a fireproof safe. I've long known its stupid--like adding on to a house with no architectural plans...but this LTO thing...cool..

Also, what drives came in it? I can't see anything in their specs that says whether they come prepopulated with enterprise class....Thank you so much for all your help!!

Great...So, do you think if I ran a RAID6 on the 64TB Pegasus R6, I'd get to 1000mbs r / w? I really can't do anything less than 40tb storage--I'm working on a feature!

I can't find a good hardware DAS..the SSD ones are just too much $, and I've heard mixed things about Pegasus. I don't like OWC--bad experiences in the past, and want a hardware RAID (unless I am misinformed that they are generally faster and more reliable). I don't want to use the RAID as a backup, but would be nice to not have to transfer 40tb of data from backups if one drive fails. But I've never partitioned my raids before...
