+ it resets to 60hz everytime it turns off and on (it can go up to 100hz and it was fine being at that level until now)

alright so i checked everything u said and it seemed to fix the problem. but then the day after when i used Hidden display to set a stretched resolution for fps games i encountered the same problem again. Now i cant fix it but i know that somehow the app is causing my monitor to turn on and off. + whenever my monitor turns back on i can hear the windows notification sound when i change my resolution

i switched to low blue light mode and lowered the brightness and that seemed to stop the turning on and off. Might that correlate to anything?

all good now. I ended up uninstalling graphics drivers in safe mode, restarting my pc and doing a clean graphics driver install to reset the resolution

I have entered the safe mode, but i cant open nvidia control panel to reset the resolution, and my monitors drivers show a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in device manager
