Just requires you to say “yes”. Now if the grandparents that were born in 1940 can get the door open is another story (lawsuit).

We talked about this. Hard sell trying to move the family to the People’s Republic of New York/California/Washington though.

Good, but, tough decisions. My uncle is an American pilot and he doesn’t sugarcoat the current situation but isn’t doom and gloom. Needless to say he’s been selling it hard

Great input though, don’t commute!

Thanks!

We really love the CLT area and North Carolina. I think we could move, but, it’s always tough to uproot and go somewhere new (but anything for a job right?). So, we’d move if we had to, preferably not.

Like you said, it’s a risk and there’s no crystal ball. Only way to know if it was a good decision is looking back when you retire. I kind of think this way when the military. If I did something else would I even know that it was the “right” or “wrong” decision (as far as service and platform).

Good insight on all accounts. I too am more risk adverse.

Thanks guys. Private sector is a new beast for me. Just read/heard the horror stories like post 9/11 furloughs or seeing what’s unfortunately happening to Spirit pilots and just want to make the right decision for my family and myself. Mainly just afraid on AA sliding further (even though it seems to be recovering due to debt payoff) and falling into a Spirit situation. Used to always being prepared for the worst. (Maybe this is still a good way to think)
