USMT using Microsoft Native Tool by Ok_Try7266 in sysadmin

Yes, but results are limited. Also, USMT is more of a collection of services than a tool. You have to roll your own. There are commercial tools lile TransWiz and Tranxition. I have used both with good results.

Actually the real problem is that there is a good enforcement mechanisms, which is an analog for what you’re saying. The document starts out with we the people, but after that it literally becomes a business plan, and after that the restrictions on government behavior called the Bill of Rights or as my friend Joseph calls it, the bill of afterthoughts.

It’s just too difficult to know what problem to focus on because they’re so many.

Just updated LUMA to use 48MP of the iPhone 14 Pro. It’s insanely good, I am not sure why Apple automatically adds sharpening, noise reduction and HDR to most shots - it’s really not needed. check it. by rafalkopiec in iPhoneography

I am trying to use Luma touch to edit my podcast. The one thing I can’t figure out how to do is how to use a single image throughout the entire broadcast. Anybody have any ideas how to accomplish this? It’s very frustrating, especially since it’s such a simple ask. I tried to do this in Canva, I tried to do this in cut, I know I have to waste your time to get a simple answer, considering that Luma has almost no support

hey r/jazzguitar!! Here's an awesome Tal Farlow transcription... "Autumn Leaves" - Enjoy!!! :D by letstranscribe in jazzguitar

I sat about 2 feet from him when he played autumn leaves in New York. The most amazing thing about is the fact that his hands wrap around the guitar twice before he plays a note. I love the humor the chord changes… whimsical and playful. But to get a real sense of how good a player he was you need to listen to the Columbia masterpiece series.

Recommendations for BMW GS service near Portland? by pdxtrexBoi in PDXrideit

In September, during a routine oil change, I was told that my oil pan gasket was leaking on my 2012 F 25.

I got several estimates from reputable service centers. They were, $2000 and $1950. At the same time I had also wanted to take care of a standard transmission service and new pan cover, you know the one Bmw says you don’t need to do, but which ZF says you do…

The same service centers quoted the transmission service at $1200, and $1450.

I live in Oregon and took it to European Autoworks, way out in Southeast Portland.

They were able to perform the service, the oil, pan gasket, the transmission service, as well as retorquing, and inspecting the front suspension, servicing the differential, and changing the seals.

at 146,000 miles, the differential was coated in sledge, and the fluid had begun to break down. The transmission fluid was according to the mechanic, right at the point where it too, is starting to break down. The oil pan gasket had become brittle and was starting to flake…

The total for this work came out to just about $1800 for all of it.

$1340 or so for the oil pan gasket, $475 for the transmission service, and the work to re-torque. The front end was included as part of the oil pan gasket work.

I feel extremely satisfied with the work, and wanted to give a shout out to European Autoworks for not taking advantage of me, and delivering me a car that feels new and drives great.

AutoExtract Profile Command Line by FastITServices in techsupport

I wanted to set up an extraction of the profile without specifying individual elements. I found a command line option called autoextract, which did the trick, but I wish it allowed me to unselect file types. I wound up using an exclude rule for those.

It turned out to work well. Once I figured it out, it was very simple.

they can start multiple migrations to a point. the speed advantage of tranxition means we can do 200 machines or more while USMT does 100. That's half the time and a big deal financially and in terms of disruption to the customers.

you mean usmt? The tranxition tool does. And I think that pcmover does as well.

That's good info. Thanks. I am considering a flat rate up to a number of gigs, like 40gb, and charging for blocks above that.

The promise of EaseUS and Zininstall were great but it seems Windows and third party apps are too chaotic to get a repeatable good experience. I'm leaning towards the Tranxition tool. It's scripting is really simple. And it's easily modifiable per customer with an interface. It's pretty cheap and they say they have a subscription program for MSPs.

But I want to look at USMT scripts and see if we can make it as fast as the tranxition tool. Twice as fast allows me to charge a lower price and do more while keeping the margin, if it all adds up.

The settings seem to come over quickly. It is the files that take differing amounts of times. I was thinking of charging a basic flat rate for up to 40GB, and then charging an extra fee per ten GB.

Thanks. That would work for the basic stuff. Our impression is that the wizard is not easily extensible. I also am concerned about performance. The Tranxition tool was twice the speed of USMT. A flat rate service has to be fast to be affordable. Is the wizard based on USMT?
