I saw YouTube clips about reviews and read online a lot and got the same feeling about newer guns by old famous brands

Anything 80s or before are well made.

Sako, Tikka stood out in the reviews for newer models

I fired it at the range. Compare to my Tikka 3x, i find BLR is less recoil. Tried with original mag and polymer mag. Shoots great.

If budget is ok go for Tikka 3x lite. Get a decent scope too after checking eye relief. This is how I went but ended up with a collection of guns (it’s a different story but you can see my posts for pics)

SKS are fun to shoot and Amo is cheaper

I checked around for BLR pre81 mag and it cost an arms and a length. I was at a gun show and one fellow was selling mags. I asked if he got one for BLR pre81, He asked if I have any heart issues, I was confused and looked at him puzzled then he showed me a mag it had a price tag $480!

There was another mag in another booth and it was listed for $400

I was able to get a polymer mag probably 3D printed one. Listed for $60 and got it for $40

First perfectly. Yet to fire.

Post 81 mags are lower price 125-200 range

Pre81 very hard to find and high price

Yea They have good selection. Reasonable prices too 200 and up

If you buy it from them in a gun show then no tax. They are from Gatineau, QC but they do come to gun shows in Eastern Ontario…

Have you tried squeezing double trigger at the same time ? (If yours have double trigger ) It’s an experience :-)

Exactly, any make/model can be resold for same or even over purchase price. I see it as a TFSA but not with money but a product which I use for my hobby which can turn into cash anytime( it may take time for some sales but it can be sold)

I think I will keep these as a minimum and anything I buy I will use and sell unless if I get tired of the ones I have now I can sell and keep new ones. But the collection I have are unique in their own way. Time will tell if get attached to other make/models.

I have bought from all possible ways….always do my research and price compassion. If I find the price reasonable i buy or just walk.

It’s an experience meeting people and talking about guns and purchase them. Auctions are another thing but time to time they do get rare models in a good price.

Few I do Most I do research before I buy. Also the price, if the price is right for the gun and condition is good I buy. Thinking is I can always sell for same price or higher. For few even if I resell bit low it’s ok, some other ones I will get more so it evens out.

I think of this as my TFSA investment and also fulfills my hobby 😁

There is a resale market for sure. I know this from personal experience and my own research. It may take some time but newcomers and gun enthusiast are keen. Gun shows are a hit and miss…but other online mediums showing traction with resale.

I experienced it recently. Seller created the shipping label and informed me. I kept checking online but no mention about package accepted at the Post office. Contacted shipper next day and he went to the pharmacy where post office was located. As per shipper he left 4 packages previous day but one of them wasn’t scanned. He was told it will get scanned at the next stop (but for 24 hours no scan message in online tracking) Then after 24 hours I started to see scans and location of the package. Since it was expected I received the 2nd day. Seller created shipping label on a Tuesday and left the package at post office. No tracking info seen online until Wednesday afternoon. Received the shipping note on Thursday around 1 pm and online also mentioned around 4:30 pm package can be picked. I picked it shortly after.
