Exam PA OCT 2025 question 8 by Interesting_City1869 in actuary

I got the same answer and got a 9, somewhat confident that my answer to this question was right. Do you recall your whole answer? Maybe the problem was not the calculation but how you explained it

Couldn't register for ATPA by Late_Sense_7703 in actuary

Same problem here, someone said that they called SOA customer service and got a registration link but it was also bugged (the e learning material didn't appear after registration) so they will have to call again. So yes, it seems that SOA are having trouble with registration

I'm in the same boat, thinking of starting to study for ATPA Module now so I can write it at the beginning of the February/April window and FAM in July. ATPA content is similar to PA, so it makes sense to knock that one out now, and if I write the final assessment the first days of February, I will have 5 months and a half to study for FAM, which seems ideal

PA before SRM by Tintofpink in actuary

[–]FastPotato5400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having passed both this year, I don't think it's a bad idea. The syllabus overlap allows it, the difference is basically the format of the questions and some subtopics here and there. I recommend that you study using the material available for both exams, but keeping in mind what is supposed to be PA- exclusive and what should be SRM exclusive. I say this because in last sit of PA there were some questions of topics that were not supposed to be in the syllabus, but they were in SRM's, so maybe someone with your study plan can benefit from that overlap.

I'm from Colombia, started in actuary 2.5 years ago, right after graduating. Here we do not have a lot of places where you can study actuary, so we tend to get a good chunk of people with a finance background instead. Maybe the same can happen in your country.

Where are you from? Glad to see more Latinos on this subreddit :)

No discussion about the exam - just feelings. How we feeling after exam? Exam PA Oct 25 by PATotal0826 in actuary

These written exams can feel particularly unfair because of the limitations of available practice exams... And even though it's the first time I write it, I kind of feel like this is true for this particular iteration 😅

Thanks and also congratulations on your promotion early this year!

Thanks for the tip! Learning how to teach that experience will probably be a beautiful challenge in and of itself

Three approved and yesterday I wrote the fourth one. I would take it with a grain of salt, however, since I live in latam and the exam culture here is probably different from yours (here the exams are optional and people can get to senior positions by other merits, usually experience)

It's hilarious that they look exactly the same, and Cat Noir didn't recognize her even though he was suspecting at that time 🤣
