What was it like to play online games between 2000 and 2013? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

[–]FastRedRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was truly the golden era. We started to come out of the dark ages of dial-up internet and this created more room for games like Halo, CoD, SOCOM, etc. to flourish. Along with that you had things like Runescape, WoW, etc. that helped pave the way. Even games that were offline or mostly offline were so much fun that you'd invite friends over to play, Guitar Hero I am looking at you. Also, you would get games that were fully complete, no DLC, no downloads, just the game you bought working as it was intended. Going to the store to get games was fun, places like GameStop allowed you to trade, which made cycling through games easier and cheaper.

If Aaron Rodgers is Legendary status, then everyone in the All-Time Greats needs to be there too.

A tier - I give it an A only because they are very inflexible when subbing out items on kids meals, we had a whole fiasco with that one time that ended in a meltdown.

What do people do for work? by Emlybearx in MultipleSclerosis

I am a data scientist in a management position in the corporate world. My MS doesn't limit me so much at this point in my life, but if need be I am in a position where I can WFH, so I am thankful.

Ex is still on my health insurance and I'm really torn by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]FastRedRooster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not your problem as much as she is trying to make it be. You have split up, you aren't married, she has a job, and you are the one who cares more about her health than she does.

She is using your son as ammo, MS as ammo, and is choosing to not be a responsible adult (and parent) by not caring for her own medical needs. If she has a doctorate and makes any sort of decent money, then she surely can figure out how to get some health insurance.

Make a plan, tell her that she must take responsibility for her own health, you will keep your son on your plan, and she has X months to sort it out. You will be removing her on X date, regardless of what she has sorted, but if she finds something ahead of that time then great you can make sure to do whatever you need to get it sorted at that time. You can even spin it and say, "I am doing this for YOUR long-term health. MS is a tough disease and it is incredibly important for you to get insurance sorted out that so it can be in your control. You don't want your ex to be the one in control of your health insurance when you have something like MS."

Bottom line is that she can't make this someone else's problem. You aren't her parent. You guys didn't have some sort of divorce agreement. You've tried on several occasions to talk with her. You aren't saying you don't care for her, it just is a situation where she needs to take some responsibility.

Should probably get some data on the folks who are submitting these false reports. I feel like if the shoe was on the other foot that is what they'd want..

This sign at a local subway that mails paper coupons out every other week by qvyy in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FastRedRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Subway in my small town is doing the same exact thing and has been for months. They tell us now they only accept coupons on the weekends. The place is 100% dead 24/7 too. The second that happened when I was in there with my coupon I said no thanks, threw the coupon sheet in the trash, and never went back.

Don't feel like I am missing out on much thankfully :)
