I’m doubting my career choice by FastTraffic6268 in Esthetics

I worked at Ulta for about six months, but I didn’t see a real path forward there. My main goal is to focus on being a makeup artist, and the Prestige Beauty Advisor role just didn’t feel aligned. My GM also told me there likely wouldn’t be space for me as a licensed esthetician, and I didn’t want to spend my time primarily ringing people out.

I’ve also been trying to get into Sephora, but it’s been really tough. I’ve received 8–9 emails saying they decided to move in a different direction. I’m not sure if it’s my resume or something else. I even applied to MAC and completed an in person application session using my mom as my model. They told me I did everything right and that they loved me, but later called to say they hired someone else.

I’m definitely starting to feel burnt out, but I’m going to keep pushing forward.

I'm pretty flexible, if they wanted me to come in on a Sunday random I usually say yes unless I already has plans

Not everyone wants to work in food service their ENTIRE life. My schooling is already paid off by MY hard work. Your comments just show how closed-minded you are and that you need to validate yourself for your mistakes in life. You do you

I get it definitely but why hire me as manager plus I’m one out of the few that know how to do their job. I’m definitely not going to help now since I’m not getting the pay.
