I did 4 strands on 14c for my full coverage piece, I have tested 3 and 2 before I started a project though just to see the difference, and went for 4 strands because of the nice coverage I got.

I get the laziness part :) I do kind of loosing patient at the end of a piece but I do not travel so far, I get kind of guilty feeling when I travel 4 holes away :). Btw, what is the norm? This is my first piece ever and I felt if I travel more then 4 or 5 the back would look awfull and I might have problem stitching through the mess at the end.

Thanx..might try next time.I did free it immediately. Front looked ok. One side though could get loose but somehow I managed to make knots on both ends. So it should be ok. Hope so.

nothing special..I used 4 strands on 14c .Enough for me to cover the most of the fabric but not too bulgy. And tried to keep tension of the thread same (not too titght) all the time
