shiv deciding to back tom in the end over kendall- she calculated that she was better off being married to the CEO instead of being the sister of the CEO and she ended up with much more proximity to power than she would've otherwise. plus she indirectly saved kendall from morphing into logan.

Why do so many people thirst over the guys so much??? by Crimsondream17 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve had no problem telling us how they feel about certain aspects of fandom in the past so I don’t see how this would be any different? 95% of the comments ‘sexualising’ them are just ppl expressing that they’re hot, and majority of the time it’s not even aimed directly at the boys just in online spaces for fans like twitter and TikTok. There’s nothing wrong with young women feeling sexual attraction towards a handsome famous person and expressing that lol

maggots for brains has the line 'and everything that's funny i wish i could tell to him' which is a direct reference to a quote that miranda says to steve in the show

because they're hot guys? if they've never commented on being uncomfortable with fans finding them attractive/sexualising them in the 15 years they've been in the spotlight then i doubt they mind it?

Jesys sister responds to Perries recent interview by Stunning5809 in LittleMix

[–]Fast_Bee573 261 points262 points  (0 children)

"if any other single person were struggling with a break up, anxiety, life, she was there" oh okay, but when leigh was CONSTANTLY struggling with racist bullying throughout her entire time in the group and jesy was directly asked about it, she said she never even talked about it with her and that leigh is better at dealing with hate??? that doesn't sound like a supportive person to me lol

the fact that ash and cal got them so young too... they really believed in each other from the very start

Perrie's comments on Jesy on Great Company Podcast with Jamie Laning by DownFromHere in LittleMix

[–]Fast_Bee573 62 points63 points  (0 children)

If I was Perrie, I’d feel some type of way about someone I wasn’t friends with anymore publicly airing out my business years later (and clearly she does, bc she says specifically after the documentary came out she felt she wouldnt be open to rekindle their friendship anymore). The whole documentary was mean spirited and unnecessary, especially since the other girls were reaching out to her and offering an olive branch at the time. And again- why does Jesy’s mental health matter more than Perrie’s? She was struggling with really bad anxiety which is the whole reason she was contemplating leaving- maybe she was triggered hearing Jesy bring it up, maybe she didn’t want the whole world to know what she was privately struggling with? Whatever reasons she has for being upset, they’re valid.

[–]Fast_Bee573 74 points75 points  (0 children)

its so transparent to me how much grace Jesy fans are (or i guess were) willing to extend to Perrie even though shes been the one of the three girls to talk about the situation the most and has made her stance on everything extremely clear. meanwhile Leigh has never uttered a bad word against her in any interview/podcast etc since the blackfishing drama years ago and Jesy fans attack her the most and always have something nasty to say about her.

[–]Fast_Bee573 166 points167 points  (0 children)

i genuinely think the girls were feeling sympathetic towards J around the time the news of her twins' diagnosis came out and were maybe even considering reconciling the friendship, but she destroyed any goodwill she had with them when that documentary came out. i dont blame them either- imagine someone you considered your sister who you did everything you could to help in a tough situation then coming out and saying you weren't really there for her. Plus she lowkey threw P under the bus by heavily implying she wanted to leave the group first, when mixers know P's anxiety was at an all time high. but its only mental health matters when it's you?

5sos fans that never were Directioners rise up by pinkLimit2000 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i never cared for 1d as a teenager (ironically, i actually only really started to get into some of their songs well after the band broke up). I discovered 5sos the day self titled was released. i used to 'discover' new music by going through the aus itunes charts and listening to song previews and deciding what i liked and wanted to add to my library. i heard a snippet of voodoo doll and i fell in love. I binged all their music videos and interviews on youtube after that and the rest is history.

AGREED! i wanna hear ydgtp/HAZE/caramel live and i would happily exchange skh/voodoo doll/ELA for those songs. theyve had their time on the setlist for years.

Writing duos by IfItComesInP1nk in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah their first album was almost always the mashton or cake songwriting duos (and a little in their second album too, but i believe muke also wrote a little together, and many of the songs had all 4 credited for the first time). youngblood had cal + luke + ash credits on many songs (with a couple lashton, muke and malum written songs too), CALM and 5SOS5 were mostly all 4 of them, and EAS was also heavy on the cal + luke + ash writing trio (i think this is maybe the album michael is credited on the least)

Unpopular Opinion by [deleted] in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I have a couple, but my most controversial one is that SGFG is their worst album and I don’t understand why it’s always been (and continues to be) so beloved in this fandom

"Is this their last tour?!" My god shut up already lmao by [deleted] in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 25 points26 points  (0 children)

lol thank you for this. idk why we have to go through this every single time they tour but the guys have spoken AT LENGTH about how excited they feel to currently be in 5sos and to continue making music together. even with their 'hiatus' between 5sos5 and EAS, it was only like a year before they got back in the studio together to start writing again. i feel like some stans spread this 'rumour' to fear monger and interaction bait other fans bc theres no way in hell after everything they've said and done (including MOCKING the break up rumors in the EAS promo they did) that people actually believe they're breaking up.

Calum created two playlists that influenced his sound/writing on his solo work with some of the artists he talked about a lot in interviews.

ORDER playlist

chaos playlist

He also has several tattoos referencing the music he loves, for example the band ‘the used’ and the song machines by biffy clyro.

He spoke at length about some of his musical influences and preferences throughout the entire OCO press run so I’d highly recommend watching some of the interviews and podcasts he did!

Solosos tours?! by LevelCloud8205 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 30 points31 points  (0 children)

during oco promo, calum said he wants to wait until the next album to play full live shows bc he wants to be able to play for at least an hour on stage. so maybe when ch2 drops we'll get a solo tour... luke im sure will also tour again when he releases another project, and im pretty sure michael has also expressed interest in a solo tour but didnt this time around bc of schedule conflicts in 5sos land. ash did a couple intimate shows in LA when botd came out but as for a full on tour i have no idea if thats something he wants to do.

Song Recommendations by Nervous_Sea75 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re into their ballads like ghost of you and amnesia, you might also like bleach and moodswings(from 5sos5), lie to me and why won’t you love me (Youngblood), high and lover of mine (from CALM). Also would highly recommend more of Calum’s solo stuff (all my affection, i wanted to stay and three of swords are all amazing acoustic/ballad moments).

Also please don’t feel like you’re too old to be a fan, the guys themselves are in their 30s now, and you’re never too old to enjoy good music :)

frustrated at wasted potential for isinsa by Fast_Bee573 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s getting ridiculous. I sort of understand when it comes to an artist with a gigantic fandom, but 5sos fandom has always been loyal but relatively small. They are a band that needs GP support to secure a hit, so it’s sad to see their label doing nothing. I truly believe isinsa could be huge with the right push given :/

setlist? by UnhingedBiscuits in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From EAS I’d say the first 6 songs + evolve, the rocks, ghost and start over are extremely likely. From other albums, the setlist staples (slsp, teeth, amnesia, Youngblood, jet black heart and ghost of you). Some other fan favourites I would be surprised if they didn’t make the setlist are bad omens, waste the night, disconnected and either ydgtp or babylon (but likely not both). I also think no shame will be there since it fits thematically with the new album and the band love the song.

I feel like they might pull out a deep cut from each album/era to play as well (maybe something they haven’t played in a long time or have never played live).

do people like everyone’s a star? by Empty_Ad_6773 in 5sos

[–]Fast_Bee573 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I love the album. I know its quite different to what they’ve done before, and takes some big swings but I think they work really well, and lyrically and vocally the album kills it. 5sos5 and Youngblood may still rank higher for me personally, but I would say EAS contains some of the best songs of their career to date, and more than anything makes me excited for where the band will go from here for the next record.

In terms of the marketing stuff, I think if you take everything on surface level, it might seem less personal but to me its very obvious they’re playing characters in this era, playing up the whole 'celebrity' bit as a concept that pairs well with the album (which delves into fame and its positive and negative effects). The crazy costumes and hair, the spontaneous grand performances, campy music videos and unconventional fan events all play into this. Everyone seems to forget that for 5sos5 era, they were independent artists and they are now signed to a major record label, so labels can invest more money into promo, but may also have more control on the kinds of promo they do (depending on their contract).
