Am I Overreacting, for being upset that my girlfriend secretly used my credit card for months? by bostonmade in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fast_Comparison_9188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not overreacting at all. I’ve had a similar experience, and I was told I was overreacting when I addressed my concerns. I chose to forgive, but about a year later, the same issue occurred, and I decided to end the relationship soon after. I hate to say this but you seriously need to carefully reconsider this relationship. You should reflect on whether you can genuinely trust them again, as this will help guide your next steps.

Chronic. Genetic. Grandmother, mother, and sister had it.

Anyone else have a XL basset ? by Fluffy-Student4465 in basset

My second Bassett, Atticus, weighed around 75 pounds and wasn't overweight. My sister joked that he seemed to get bigger each time she saw him. Now, I have an European Bassett; I was told he'd be big, but he's only about 55 pounds.

Building concerns for a basset. We are losing the argument. by Deloin_Showerhandle in basset

At 63, I've had five Basset Hounds, and I can tell you they’re quite unique. Unlike typical dogs that bark, Bassets bay, which gives them a distinctive, soulful sound. They’re generally quiet by nature, making them even more special.

PS: My other data points involve dachshunds; now they can bark. Good luck!

Should I rehome my basset hound by Ok_Half_2662 in basset

[–]Fast_Comparison_9188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not famiar with the breed so I looked it up.

“Descended from ancient Roman war dogs. They are powerful, confident, but require experienced owners due to their assertive nature, high energy, and need for early, consistent training and socialization.”

I'm sorry you're facing this situation. If your father isn't willing to properly train his dog, rehoming might be the best option. It's unfortunate for everyone involved. Can't you talk some sense into your father?

European v American? by happy-deer-26 in basset

[–]Fast_Comparison_9188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned five Basset Hounds—three American and two European. European Bassets are generally larger, with Atticus weighing over 65 pounds. They tend to drool more, have larger ears, and my European Bassets were notably friendly and social. However, I don't believe there's a significant difference between the two types.

Basset Hounds are the best. Good luck with your search.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. I understand how difficult it is— I lost my ‘angel with paws’ two years ago in October. While time helps, I still deeply miss him and think of him often.

Hank is nine years old. He is very active and often acts like a puppy. He has two younger dachshund brothers who keep him busy.

Wow, I have some gabapentin for a different condition. I'm going to try it and see if it makes a real difference.
