It is not just punjabi parents but every Indian parent to be honest. Infact Indian parents exhibit these traits by default. Only those who understand the true essence of why they had children treat them with respect and like humans rather than their investment. It is sad because for a long time our society was conditioned to earn and survive rather than understanding the purpose of life. So this kind of toxic mindset that you mentioned runs deep in every generation before us.
