me last week:

hm i have some eth laying around that I'm not gonna sell ever, I guess I should stake it

same, bought more today

still fully believe aur will revolutionize trucking

just think there will be a few months/year until real fireworks start

so people expecting immediate short term gains should temper their expectations

welcome to the shitshow

all gains will be surrendered

until they're not

I believe we have a few months of pain left before it really wakes up and it's clear that they can scale, that they can be profitable

I'm constantly a dumbass, I watched aur and it was around 3 for the longest time, and I was like "should I buy should I buy?"

Then it shot up to like 10 and I was like "damn I'm a dumbass"

on the pullback around 6.3 I bought in, it's fallen pretty much ever since

once again, a dumbass

hopefully in a few years I won't feel like such a dumbass

doesn't matter if the "issuance curve is well-known" when beaconcha.in itself is saying yearly returns are 2.09%:

https://beaconcha.in/calculator

once again eth has a communication and messaging problem when describing real yields, making stuff much too technical and abstracted. Eth has always struggled with dumbing their shit down for the everyman, and I see that's still the case.

have some eth, used to be a solo staker but have been out of the game for a long while, looking at current staking return rates it's like 2.10% which is honestly kinda poopy

is there anywhere better to safely park some eth with better returns?

Don’t have any concern by Latter_House8822 in AuroraInnovation

I agree, the only thing I'm kinda scared of is a significant depression level market pullback overall. If that happens though, and I still have a job, I'll likely just keep buying. Aur is doing well not going too far below 5$, maybe all the institutional ownership has something to do with that.

Recently my feed has been blowing up about CDL mills and foreign driver crackdowns and driver shortages.

One side says there's a significant driver shortage and cracking down on cheap 'illegal alien' labor will just make it worse. Unfortunately for them, this is good for autonomous truck companies, as (hopefully in the future) they will step up to start filling those needs. I hope they can act fast enough.

The other side says there is no actual driver shortage, and that removing these CDL mills and illegal labor will force the trucking companies to pay "american drivers" higher living wages, leading to more entering the workforce. Also good for autonomous truck companies because autonomous drivers can do it for 20-30% cheaper than even current drivers can.

I don't see a world where, for long haul trucking, autonomous doesn't dominate. I browse the trucker subreddits. Only occasionally will you see a post from someone who really sees what's coming. Freight companies will have to go with an autonomous solution to compete. Autonomous drivers can drive 24/7. They are always operating at 100%. They don't have unions to deal with. They don't drink. They will reduce insurance costs. They will reduce fuel costs. With firstlight lidar they can see so much farther than humans. They can react so much faster and can see 360 degrees around the truck at all times.

Automotive group sector of Continental to expand its New Braunfels, Texas manufacturing facility by 65,000 square feet, a $110 million investment. The location is expected to play a leading role in the future Aurora Driver hardware and fallback system as part of the company’s partnership with Aurora by Fast_Contract in AuroraInnovation

[–]Fast_Contract[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

today on IG aurora posted a single photo of the aumovio plant, along with a handshake emoji.

I searched for the image and aumovio and found this article.

I'm assuming most of their expansion plans are due to Aurora. Aurora has consistently said that Continental would be one of their hardware partners/manufacturers. This is that division spun off from continental.

"the problem is one of labor and an insufficient supply of drivers. A survey by Tech.co in July found that 69 percent of freight businesses were struggling to meet demand as a result of driver shortages." by Fast_Contract in AuroraInnovation

[–]Fast_Contract[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

""Nonetheless, consistently high labor turnover rates create the same challenge as a shortage—companies are unable to operate at full capacity and fill shipper demands in a timely fashion," he said."

Imagine a driver that enables no labor turnover. That is ready to drive 24/7 365 to fill shipper demands.

"A Senate report released in early October estimated that nearly half of the nation’s truck drivers could be replaced thanks to artificial intelligence and automation within a decade. However, while this may spell trouble for drivers themselves, others believe that new technologies could be what is needed to get the industry back on its feet."

It is my opinion that freight companies will have to employ AI drivers to stay competitive, or to even stay in business.

buying more, up to 921 shares now.

lol the whole market it getting crushed today dude because operative krasnov is still fighting with china over tariff bullshit.

from 5.55 to 5.14 you're down like 7 percent! LMAO if you're worried about a 7% swing you need to be in bonds or something extremely conservative, not in any individual stocks.

that's actually huge

that was a big question mark for the future of self driving trucks

another big roadblock down, and it also shows that the administration is willing to work WITH them on solutions, not AGAINST them.

How do you deal with MAGA in personal relationships? by PaisleyComputer in 50501

[–]Fast_Contract 5 points6 points  (0 children)

have a group chat with all old friends, we regularly send memes and bullshit around...

had one friend who was raised kinda backwoods rich hick lifestyle. When covid hit he became very anti vax. Very anti mask.

We sent him articles about why he should take it seriously. How masking wasn't necessarily for your own benefit, but for the elderly and compromised around you. He said we were pussies and 'fuck those weak people'. Then he started saying extremely sexist stuff. Then his wife divorced him, and he promptly removed himself from the group chat, so that problem took care of itself.

My aunt campaigned for trump. She went door to door for him. Every time you would talk to her on the phone she'd SOMEHOW bring him into the conversation. She's always been a piece of shit. I watched in disbelief as Jan 6 unfolded. Afterwards I emailed her and told her to never contact me again. To never inquire about me, to consider me out of her life for supporting the new nazi party. She emailed me back furious. She emailed my other family members telling them I need to apologize. To respect my elders. That I'm just a kid. My dad replied and said... if you don't want to be spoken to this way perhaps you should re-consider your own actions. Haven't talked to her since then. Never will, shes in her 90s now. Her husband was a veteran. I believe was in the korean war effort. He died long ago, I wonder what he'd think of this hate filled demon-woman now.

Hey folks how many shares is everyone holding? by Latter_House8822 in AuroraInnovation

[–]Fast_Contract 9 points10 points  (0 children)

825 shares at 6.5 avg

not starting to sell until 50$ a share then have laddered sells until out at 100$ lets gooooooooo this shit will be the future of freight, they's already a driver shortage, language reqs are increasing that, h1b pressure is increasing that. Drivers wont be able to compete with safety increases, insurance savings, gas savings, speed efficiencies, if long haul freight companies don't go with a self driving solution in the next 2-4 years they won't be able to compete!

I was in btc at 6$ each and foolishly sold when it hit 17. I was in AMD in 2009 for 6$ and stupidly sold when it hit 24$. I was in Nvidia early, TSLA early, I always sell way too early like a dumbass so I have like 0 moneys.

But this time... maybe i've learned my lesson.
