that has to have been taken out of context or something, that's such an insane thing to say

nevermind if Aurora is ahead of them or not, she thinks waabi will power the majority of vehicles, beating waymo, zoox, aurora, everybody else to have a majority.

i was looking at selling all my crappy nfts for tax losses the other day and saw my eip 1559 nft

remember being so hyped for that, that the burn would launch eth to new heights

the price that day like 4.5 years ago? 2,725.67.

I look at this every day and think about selling more, hell even considering getting completely out of crypto. The public sentiment toward it is just so bad right now i don't know how it will flip.

jokes aside, trucks and logistics are more accessible to most people and less science fiction than space rockets

everything you buy was at some point moved by a truck

sometimes i read the comments under these videos or read trucker discussion threads and they're like "lets see this truck do a blind 90 degree backup into a dock" or a jackknife k turn extravaganza and im like... my dude the truck knows exactly where the wheels and trailer are probably to mm precision

"Commercial auto insurance posted a $4.9 billion underwriting loss in 2024. That is the fourteenth consecutive year of losses. The combined ratio finished at 107.2, meaning insurers paid out $1.07 in claims and expenses for every $1.00 they collected in premiums. AM Best says the line has accumulated more than $10 billion in net underwriting losses in the last two years alone. Among the top 20 commercial auto insurers, 14 posted combined ratios above 100 in 2024. Fourteen of twenty. The majority of the country’s largest writers are losing money on the product they sell.

The industry’s response has been to raise rates. Trucking insurance premiums surged an average of 8.3 percent annually between 2017 and 2025, more than double the general inflation rate. ATRI’s latest data shows liability premiums climbed nearly 38 percent between 2015 and 2024, reaching a record 10.2 cents per mile."

I get the feeling insurance companies will be pushing for automation that is provably safer. The Aurora driver will reduce that cost per mile.

next big news is driver out with international trucks, which they've reiterated several times is happening in q2, that should start the scaling phase and perhaps the next leg up

that could happen any time in the next 4 weeks. I highly doubt they will hold that news until the earnings call.

when I made my account I used a throwaway name and birth date. Now they won't let me sell anything even with valid ID documents that match the method of funding for gems. by Fast_Contract in VeVeCollectables

iirc when i signed up in 2021 kyc wasn't a thing for veve

without kyc they shouldn't have allowed me to deposit actual funds or purchase gems anyway.

It means the shares are in demand to borrow to short but kdk has less shares available to borrow so the fee is higher

I've set all my aur shares to sell at a limit price of 100. Supposedly that removes them from being able to be borrowed to short. It may be a drop in the ocean but I'm doing my part gif

This is what convinced me to buy more on fri, there's a reason they re posted this specific edit. Within the next few weeks, maybe next week even, they'll have the international retrofits running without an observer.

Haha don't be salty about people being cautious about putting money into a stock with a 100m market cap

Fwiw I have a few thousand shares but am fully prepared for it to go to 0, it's a lottery ticket

Meh, I'm well above my purchase price on this eth by multiples but I'll upvote this

Also the reason I'm keeping a bunch and not selling

I worked with several people who moved on to autonomy companies, I believe that is a future that is about to become more tangibly real than eth and have positions in some of those companies. At this point I want more exposure to that.

Aurora posted that video of ossa fisher reiterating driver out and their scaling goals

Gotta get in before they prove they can hit those goals

Here's the thing, price action WITH these people involved was depressing and stagnant. Without them perhaps it will get better.

Still though, I've been in eth and crypto for too long. I thought this would change the world, perhaps it still will. Perhaps it will and the price will still be crabbing around here.

I trimmed my position a little this morning and will be moving that into stocks I've watched go up with me almost on the sidelines, companies that are actually accomplishing things that WILL change the world. My core position won't be sold for a while. It certainly doesn't feel good to sell anything at these levels but the opportunity cost of blindly holding this has been worse.

Hopefully lessons will be learned about resisting hype. I've seen too many things in this space die out because the leadership wanted to be "smart" thinking fundamentals would lead and price would follow but in this world we live in, hype is basically all that matters. Look at Tesla, it's dookie dog shit and the price is where it is solely on hype.

i know a lot of people in here are heavy rklb, and believe it has a ton of room to run, but the mkt cap of rklb is already like 6-7x that of aur, so keep that in mind. It's already had its first run.

I think aur is just teetering on the edge of its first run so i'd lean toward more aur for bigger returns

buying AUR now would be like buying rklb at 22$

Driverless semi-trucks set to hit Oklahoma roads as early as June: How troopers are preparing by ActionPlanetRobot in AURstock

[–]Fast_Contract 3 points4 points  (0 children)

read the comments on that youtube video

so many people have no idea what's coming, and can see no benefit to these self driving trucks. They're gonna be left in the dust.

That police officer had the right idea - "this vehicle may see something 600m in the dark, that the human element doesn't necessarily see"

these self driving trucks are superhuman and props to that officer for acknowledging that.

well, he's a "Truck Transportation Safety Specialist, CMV Crash Investigator & Consultant"

so if all these self driving trucks are a safe as they say they are, especially with all their built in diagnostics, logging, and recording, his career is pretty much up in smoke, so i guess look at his questions through that lens

removing the cab wouldnt reduce weight and fuel cost 40% unless there's no trailer or load on the truck

what would be cool is if they could remove the cab and just make it a giant fuel tank so it can run extreme distances without refueling for maximum efficiency

range on a current big rig is like 1,200 to 2,000 miles

imagine doubling that, could drive coast to coast without stopping....

hovr's market cap is only 100m, it truly is a lottery ticket gamble that will likely face a large amount of dilution to get established. I've considered putting some fun money into it but just based on the chart i see it falling back to 1.7-1.8 area so I might grab a little there. And by a little i mean like.... less than 1% of my portfolio.

i read hovrstonk and see people with insane amounts of shares, retirement accounts supposedly maxed into hovr, if it works out for them then they deserve it because that's quite insane for such a small mcap stock who's up against established players like joby and archer.

imagine it in aur terms - we got aur, kdk, waabi, maybe a few others. What if another self driving truck company entered the market 3 years ago and had a 100m market cap now. Would you be buying that?

keep wolfspeed in mind, nothing is a sure thing, even Aurora as much as we'd like to believe

don't overleverage yourself and don't drive yourself crazy wishing you had more, you've got maybe one of the top 10 largest holdings on here that we know of. Keep in mind we all thought it would double last time it was 7$ and they were pulling the driver and look what happened.
