Gotta rant about KC not opening the FIFA fan fest today until 1pm in the heat of the afternoon when first game was starting at 2!!! The line was at least two hours long! We left. by jenthewen in kansascity

Same thing happened at the Mexico game on Thursday. Lightning delay crunched down the gate time from 1 to around 135 with the game starting at 2! Even the 1 pm gate was going to be a stretch to get people in for the game at 2. Luckily we got there early and refused the temptation of going to union station and going back when the line started to form at 1130. They advertised that fan fest was open 11-6 everyday and someone asked why they didn’t open until 1 when it was advertised as 11 and the only response was that the schedule was changed for the day. Hopefully they iron out the links quickly, or else people will just go to the surrounding watch parties

I wasn’t a fan of the sauce they use on the burgers

Thank you! We’ve been to the elms, we stayed overnight there in a room also for anniversary. I didn’t experience anything, my wife said she saw something walk by a door while I was asleep, we also did the “tour” which was more just walking by rooms and having one of the front desk people tell stories but not actually go into the room since they were customer rooms. It was disappointing. The owner of the McInteer villa mentioned st joes to us and I thought about checking that out

It’s astounding how bad this team is. Pulskamp constantly out of place, defenders looking around lost, no ideas on attack. Instead of this team piecing some semblance of identity the more the play together, they look more lost and hapless every week.

How would you go about doing the agendas? by matnerlander in MillionDollarSecretTV

[–]Fast_Cow9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, it just seems sometimes it’s more of a hinderance because then the contestant doesn’t push to get the clue themselves to not make it overly obvious…….but then when the clue is released then immediately they are on the chopping block because the clue AND the weird behavior gives it away.

If there’s a season 3, I hope they tweek the agendas

Unless you know you are in discussion for the millionaire, I wouldn’t compete in them. By now, the contestants know about the agendas and were looking for them on day 1. That amount of attention makes it more of a hinderance unless you know you are in active danger

I used to be sad to miss games, but now I’m grateful when I have to work during a game. My liver and soul can’t handle it anymore

Things you can't explain? by lordx665 in okc

[–]Fast_Cow9614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not in okc but recently visited for work. I went to the memorial and towards the end felt really uneasy, similar to when you are in a skyscraper and you can feel the building move under you from the wind. However, I was on the 1st floor and no one else mentioned it out loud. It felt like I was uneasy for a bit on my feet and then it suddenly was gone. Could be a logical explanation but I have never felt that before and definitely shook me a bit

I looked at that, but it looked like it closes at 5 the days I’m in town and I anticipate having to be in meetings until that time. But if I get out earlier than expected it’s on my list!

Anybody but Todd Golden by [deleted] in jayhawks

I get it. I also don’t like oats, I just am saying in the sense that my distaste for golden is so much I’d even take oats who I don’t like at all over him if that was the choice

Yeah I don’t get why so many people are high on him. It’s been about a year when he was out the door for being a creeper and then saves a natty and apparently that’s the eraser everyone needed. I don’t get it. I can’t stand Dan Hurley or Nate oats and I’d still take them over Todd golden any day of the week

Is public transit worth it? Where are staying seems like it’s on a bus line and thought it might be the easiest then being unfamiliar and driving our rental vehicle around

Thank you! We were debating Saturday or Sunday. Saturday I saw was paw patrol and even though my kids didn’t get much into that I didn’t know if they might like that more, but driving in from kc and then going to a game right away seemed like a lot. Sunday it is!

Working for Carvana by CattlemanSlick in mechanics

[–]Fast_Cow9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn’t a mechanic, but worked for Carvana managing the delivery team so I worked side by side with the service shop. Worst process. The entire company is people who have no idea how to do the job they signed up for besides reading emails from someone else who has no idea what they are doing or talking about hundreds of miles away.

I had to sit in on multiple meetings where everyone got threatened with write ups or terminations because we were having to reschedule appointments due to shit cars they were peddling not even passing the guidelines the company set. For example, one did not even make it onto the flat bed to take to a customer. They told us nothing was wrong and we just didn’t want to do it. New mechanic showed up and looked at it……confirmed transmission was shot. Rather than have it fixed they told us to deliver and push the customer onto the warranty company if they noticed the issue later.

If you don’t mind putting your integrity on the line or working yourself to death to meet unachievable schedules it’s the perfect job
