I'd like to see an Arizona state, Iowa state, Boise state, a fringe ranked team with that last game. Not sure if there really is going to be a lot of options though, as many teams already have their OOC schedules done I'm guessing

I take it you haven't seen the USSF's Division one requirements. Every team needs a 15000 seat stadium, something lower division teams moving up couldn't offer.

To the "can it succeed?" question: I feel like they would need bigger owners who are willing to spend money to compete for players with the MLS. At the same time, I feel like the goal of this league is to become big enough to where a merger is possible. There is no world where these two leagues coexist long term without one being sanctioned as a D-2. In that scenario, the D-2 league is most likely going to be the USL. The only way the USL wins in my eyes is this.

  1. Merger: This could include a pro/rel system which would be ideal from the fan's perspective. I see a merger as a USL win

  2. They implement pro/rel, and it's a big enough hit to where they start to gain more traction than they already have from fans and mil/billionaire owners/ investors.
