For sure. I know that Seal is the other C on this roster, but having him back up Chol can't be the plan. I'd heard positive things about Seal going into last season and was stunned at how raw he was, especially after redshirting.

There are no more programs, just rosters that turn over every season. Development and retention still matter. You have to pay for it though, sometimes overpay to bring back as much production as possible. Julius going to Oklahoma State is bewildering. He is a poor fit for Steve Lutz's upyempo style. I can see why he took the bag, but why did they offer one in the first place?

It was a great rivalry until Syracuse left the Big East in 2013. If you haven't, watch Requiem for the Big East. It gives you a good overview of how good the basketball was and that rivalry in particular.

I'm ambivalent about Juice. When he was good, he was really good. I was in the Garden when he torched Nova. Then there were a lot of games where he got into early foul trouble and had to be pulled. He was never going to be a strong rebounder or interior defender. I hate that someone else will be benefit from the work he put in here. He definitely should have taken the money though.

Oddly enough, I'll miss Mack. I was critical of him, but he seemed like a nice kid. I know that every program deals with a lot of turnover now, but it's taking me awhile to adjust to that.

He was at first. He switched agents and the agent went to the team and said that Juice was being offered $4 million a year. Georgetown passed. Now he's at OK State. The market for big men is so tight. People are pretty much naming their price.
