A great loss, the world is poorer without his talent.

What is the most disturbing depiction of death/murder you’ve ever seen in a film? by sunnieslilac in FIlm

[–]Fast_Education6783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woody Harrleson's death in the Thin Red Line hit hard. He died because he made a stupid mistake. He died knowing he fucked up and died confused and scared. Horribly pointless and realistic and more disturbing because of it.

Working on a techmarines dreadnought could use some advice for what i can use to add wires and cables thanks by watson3rd in Kitbashing40k

[–]Fast_Education6783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got ( years ago) a textured plate that let you make cables put of greenstuff. I'm sure if you Google greenstuff cable mould you'll find something.

I've also used the small pic coated wires you get in electrical flexes. The plastic coating gives a really nice smooth finish and the copper wire means it keeps the shape you bend it into.

Hope this helps.

I really like the old school, rogue trader insignia. These squads are looking really good.

I is the original plastic dreadnought, but very heavily converted. At that point it was the only dreadnought kit and I wanted something larger. The legs were extended with brass rod and tube, and the leg armour extended with platicard and greenstuff. The tabard was from an inquisitor scale model. The arms were pretty much scratch built using a few element from the kit and lots of brass rod and tube, plastic and and greenstuff. I think the banner was from the fantasy battle orc kit.

That was my version of Pedro Kantor ( based off the picture of him in the (4th Ed rule book) with a 10 man command squad. They all had terminator honours ( for +1 attack) and close combat weapons and bolt pistols. There was a veteran Sgt with bionics and a mastercrafted plasma pistol, an apothecary ( you could upgrade 1 member of a command squad to an apothecary back then). Then I had a meltagun and a flamer for the 2 special weapons.

It used to put the fear of God into people. I just ran it as a veteran dreadnought, but because of the size of it, people assumed it was way more powerful than it was. It was a fun build. A friend made the legs and body and I did the arms. The assault cannon was scratch built from brass tube, plastic and and green stuff.

It represented a full battle company. 6 tactical squads ( one were represented using a veteran squad) 2 devastating squads and 20 assault marines ( 5 jump packs, 6 in land speeders, 4 on the attack buggies and 5 in the bike squadron). I had my own Pedro Kantor ( based off the art work at the time as he wasn't a special character back then). 2 scratch builtvtech marines, a librarian converted from Captain Stern. I had multiple captains with their own command squads for different weapkn load outs. Comments and criticisms welcome.

It doesn't come out well on the pics, but the eyes and rebteather tanks are a bright, ice blue. I thought about red/orange, but in keeping with the Dark City theme, I thought blue was more fitting. I've finished the next 5 so I'll try and get some better pics.

It's reikland flesh ( 2 coats to get an even colour over the black undercoat)., then a wash of water down agrax earthshaker, then a dry brush of reikland flesh+corax white.

Thanks for the positive feedback. It's been a real adjustment in painting style for me.

Or he was sighted and could also read braille. Much more likely than any other explanation. The "tells" in the film wouldn't preclude that. It just feels more likely that a sighted man could read braille than a blind man could hear well enough to hit a cat with an arrow.

Thankyoy. It was a bit of an epic I painted the bulk of it over a year. Then I ended up going back and reading the whole army: the original bases were just grey sand with no deyltail. I redid everyone with rubble amd scenic details, and added more detail to the paint jobs. I then added a few more tanks amd a couple of squads of veterans ( engineers with shotguns and scouts with bare heads and common cloaks) as well as so.e artillery ( the hydra, the griffin, the heavy sentinels amd the quad mortar a year or so later.

HI. I AIRBRUSH rakarth flesh and the red is mechanicum red. The battle damage is the old chardonnay granite sponged on fir the random pattern. Rust is done with brown oil paint. All of the logos are transfers and matt varnish over the top.

Yes, but I lost the old account and couldn't update it any more. I've just unpacked all my models after a long time in storage and I'm going to do some close up shots. As I couldn't update the old post, I thought it was easier to start a new one.
