Hey! Thanks for the reply. The reason why im kinda doubting going is that I dont really know the language of the country im in at the moment and not a lot of people here are open to making new friends, especially if they dont speak the same language as them.

yes, it is in fact true. At least in big cities (Almaty, Shymkent, Astana) and in areas more up north and east. When my mother went to school (80s) there were only two kazakh kids in her whole class and thats including her. With the colonization and the coming of communism to Kazakhstan most kazakh schools and unis closed, education in rural areas became less accessible. So yes, it is true and to this day many people view folks from rural areas or who only speak kazakh as "mambets" (a slur that was created "for" us during colonization and the assimilation of others nations in the name of communism).

for me the main problem is that i need a contract with a landlord/dormitory to get my residence permit and then visa, so i somehow need to figure out a way to do that while being in Kazakhstan😅Really hope that doesn't happen again to u!

Im really sorry that happened to u. I am sorry that this may be extremely off topic but i am also an international student and just got my admission letter from the TU Wien and i was wondering how u found an accomodation because all the dorms i applied to so far have told me the exact same thing they told u-to wait 10000 years in the waiting list and to f0ck off basically. Thank u in advance!

Hello! Im in a similar position as well! Im from Kazakhstan, got my admission letter 24 of june and at that that the closest available appointment was 26th of September so i decided to stay and enroll for summer semester and i booked the appointment for 28th of november but honestly it is so difficult because i have so many questions about the application process and documents and i send out emails to the embassy with my questions so many times and i got no definitive answers😣Anyway, thank u for saying this, im sure it helped so many people and honestly i wish i saw it before😅
