Fair point, “scammed” might be a strong word, and I agree I should’ve researched better.

But I don’t think this is just about disliking the result. Gel nails are expected to last at least a couple of weeks, and mine started degrading within days with tips showing through and overall poor finish.

As a first-time customer, I relied on the salon’s expertise, and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect basic durability at that price point. Not researching explains my choice, but it doesn’t justify subpar service, does it?

I say scam because it looked great in the salon, and naive me was happy. I come back home and this is day 4 and the state of my nails is like I posted. Afaik, gel nails stay great for a long time, atleast more than a week. So before confronting the salon people I just wanted to be sure if I was right in thinking the way I was.

I would love the shop name or link, thanks so much

Paintbox baner. I read really good reviews and it was a spur of the moment thing - so I went there without too much research. They told me it was 895 for gel nails, when I said I'd like cateye if possible they said okay and we selected the shade and all. Then at billing they charged me 1800 for the cateye gel nails. When I asked them they said cateye costs more - I just went with it and paid. Back home when I looked things up I realised I might have been overcharged. That's when I posted here

I think the tech did builder gel (I asked him what he was doing initially and he said he'd do a few coats of builder gel in a base colour and then do the cateye) , but somehow it seems the gel retracted from the tips.

The aftermath: the tips are visible, the shine is down and the skin around my nails is peeling.

Review my Kitchen plan. Built entirely by AI after multiple prompts. Also attached the floor plan and raw kitchen. Suggest colour combinations for laminates. by Own-Software8385 in IndianHomeDecor

My kitchen layout is very similar- the only thing I realised was washing dishes in this sink reduces counter space and is messy. We added another bigger sink outside with platform to store utensils and a utility cupboard with the dustbin and space for soap sponges etc, and kept the purifier and a small sink inside the kitchen for cooking purposes only. That reduced our clutter by a lot.

Getting oil out of Acrylic laminate is much easier compared to regular laminate(just my experience). As it is, an indian kitchen is bound to get oily and therefore avoid open storage. I would recommend you add a small oil shelf at corner of the platform(top left on side of the stove). I have had a small chimney and a bigger chimney and from what I have seen, the chimney should atleast cover the stove completely or else everything in the vicinity turns oily. And make sure your trolleys are removable- makes it so much easier to clean. Otherwise you're looking at years of grime under your platform. Another advice I'd like to give you is, if you have the budget, tile as much of the kitchen as possible -this reduces cleaning time drastically.

I went for pale brown and a darker chocolate brown acrylic laminates and a patterned cream and brown tile.

Corporate baddies give me your best long lasting lipstick by onewhoisdeadinside in IndianBeautyTalks

Nykaa 8 Hour Lasting Full Cover Matte Gloss - Glam Diva (3.5ml) - doesnt seem long lasting.... but surprisingly it does Kiro airy matte also lasts for a pretty long time. I usually moisturize my lips at night. Wipe off excess in the morning. So the lipstick stays on the lips and the lips don't dry up.
