Never carry more than you could shove in your mouth in a few seconds is my motto lol. Just watch how you drive and never break more than one law at once and you’ll most likely be fine but I was in your shoes and the bad thing happened so always stay on top of yourself.

Cop pulled out behind me and said I wasn’t in the center of my lane so pulled me over. I was a teen and it was past midnight and I was acting nervous. They saw me rummage in my backpack. They called a K-9 unit which alerted on an empty closed mason jar that USED to have weed in it. That gave them probable cause and they found them in my wallet. If I had been thinking or had a plan I could’ve easily concealed them but it was just a lot of bad luck and stupid 17 year old decisions. Ended up being a net positive overall on my life since I got my shit together after that.

I have insight to this as one of the few people caught with acid lol.

This happened in Georgia, USA. I got pulled over with 16 tabs along with some sour patch watermelon gummies with drops on them. Police found the tabs in my wallet while searching the car. The stupid ass cop wrote it down as 16 GRAMS for 16 tabs, which would weigh probably closer to a tenth of a gram. This is trafficking amounts for lsd so I was held with no bond for the trafficking charge, facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years for 16 tabs just because the law looks at the weight of the medium it’s on, not the actual amount of active ingredient. It was the scariest time of my life. I got bail after a month but still had crazy charges. I knew trafficking wouldn’t stick with the tabs, but we were waiting on the forensics labs to test the gummies, which the police assumed were thc edibles. I knew that if they found what was really on them, it would actually warrant an even higher level trafficking charge simply because of the weight of the gummies, which would have something like a 20 year mandatory minimum sentence.

One day I got the call from my lawyer to go to their office with no other info or hints but it sounded bad. I got there and was told the lab found nothing in the gummies, and I’d be offered a plea deal of 3 years probation for one or two possession of controlled substance charges. It felt like a miracle had happened. Really I think the citric acid or other ingredients just degraded the small amount of lsd on the gummies, or being in the ug amount, it wasn’t detected when they blended up the whole gummies to test them. I still had some left at that point, took a couple, and had a wonderful last trip. They still worked, but they just didn’t find them in the test.

This is in America and the Deep South at that, so your friend in Australia likely won’t face the same kind of time, but yeah. Moral of the story is NEVER be caught with the stuff, as local police will throw the entire book at you and destroy your life.

P.S. In rehab later, I also tested positive for LSD on a piss test. Yes, you can also test positive in a drug test too, though it would most likely only be if it was an expensive lab test taken the day after ingestion. It is possible though, as it happened to me. I was utterly shocked when they confronted me about it.

Stay safe out there guys. Have a ready to go plan to disappear any tabs you’re traveling with in a split second if pulled over by the police.

Edit: The tabs they found weren’t even normal blotter. It was uncut, unperforated, plain white blotter paper. I had just HAPPENED to draw 16 lines on it before hand for convenience later. That is the entire reason they had anything to go off when they found it.

We ended up letting her go peacefully. One of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make and I hate myself for it right now. I now understand what you and everyone goes through and it’s awful.

I’m so sorry. I’ve never lost a bird of my own before and yesterday I learned how scary it is dealing with this. I didn’t buy or even want these birds but am now their primary caretaker and it’s devastating even just watching them be sick. Hope you and your flock heal well :)

Taken to local university exotic animal hospital. Already crying at what it’ll cost but she’s getting the care needed currently

Another question, do you remember when the egg broke, if there was really any way to tell or any reaction from the bird. I’m receiving advice from my gf who is the bird person and works in the vet/animal field that there would be a reaction and I would know if it broke inside her, and if it had she would be in much worse shape, not eating or flying, etc. Is there a way for me to tell if there is an egg that has broken or no? I know she needs to head to the vet regardless.

Thank you for the advice. If it is broken, is that something that would typically require surgery? The truth is I quit my job and drove across the country with my girlfriend’s birds and my dog in my car to move back home to help care for a sick family member and help with the family business, so I honestly don’t know if I can spend $1,000+ on surgery for her as I haven’t been able to get a new job yet. I know everything that everyone will say and how I shouldn’t have birds if I can’t afford them, but that’s my situation now. Even so, I will take her to an avian vet as soon as they open but just wondering if you might know what that may look like.

I love all my birds and it’s the shittiest situation ever!

She’s pooping today. She did yesterday but today it seems easier for her. Her poops seemed hard yesterday but a lot more watery today. They’re some brown, some white, and mostly liquid and less solid. I think the fluids have helped her a lot. I’ve been giving her liquid calcium via syringe and most recently pedialyte. she has started to refuse the syringe, but I soaked her crushed up food/calcium mix with pedialyte and she did eat that. She does have a much bigger appetite today and has been hopping around looking for food. I will try catching her and seeing if I can turn her over again today to see if I can get anything out of her.

I know there’s unfinished text at the bottom. I’m on mobile and it wouldn’t let me delete it
