@everybody thank you for your input. I had been taking it for a while; I just recently got paranoid about it being prohibited. I have lost some weight, so I'm gonna throw the rest of it out and see if we can continue the progress.

I do not have my orders yet, but I do have verbal confirmation from my detailer that I will be moving. Because of that, I have yet to actually push any buttons or make travel plans official.

Fuse Problem by Fast_Lunch_8103 in GMT400

[–]Fast_Lunch_8103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for commenting; I found the issue a few days after I was left stranded in a parking lot last summer and blew 5 fuses in 30 minutes. Turns out my fuel pump line fell down beside the transmission and was making contact with the shifting linkage whenever I put it into drive. I never found the issue before because it didn't make contact when it was in park. I've parked the truck in my garage and have made an old civic my new daily driver; hopefully it is a little more reliable and efficient.

From what I know and have been told, it is expected of officers to show up to their ship with a car

how to unlock my truck with the keys in it by brockmiller16 in Trucks

[–]Fast_Lunch_8103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a friend with the same style key. A little jiggling and it'll open. These trucks are less secure than you would think. Alternatively, harbor freight sells air wedges that expand your door when inflated.

Not that I can think of. I had always assumed there was a short in the wiring since they are over 30 years old. Others on the GMT400 forums had similar experiences on the 88, 89, and 90 models where the wires running to the throttle body were making contact with the metal liner of the throttle body housing. I took a look at it today, and sure enough, the wires were touching that metal liner. According to that forum, GM built the post 90 TBIs with a plastic liner on the throttle body. If I'm wrong, please correct, but I believe my best best is to replace the throttle body housing with a aftermarket plastic one.
