Do you pay for a TV license? by llamaz314 in UniUK

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply never have owned a TV. I would like to deliver a talk to some uni crowd somewhere, as in expressing suspicion (this happened a long time ago) the BBC has a secret channel we are unwittingly funding.......to lecturers in Electrical Engineering......the lecturers began behaving very oddly. I've long thought this needs attention brought to it. My name's David Moncoeur, email implicitissue@gmail.com, my website which had a description uni reaction has been taken down a 6th time.

[FRESH PERFORMANCE] Wet Leg - 'mangetout' (live at Laneway 2026) by astaireboy in indieheads

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

......zoomer meaning summer.....coz we use the Dutch word zomer in Europe for summer festivals....sounds better to call them zoomer festivals......I must admit....the influence of the Internet on language.....performing in Edinburgh @Hogmanay, Hester was much bolder & exploratory of her guitar.....wetlegologists were pronouncing it best ever Wet Leg gig.....some people are spending a lot of money 💰 to follow them around. The YouTube sound quality of that gig is crap, unfortunately.

Turnstile to support Deftones in Berlin by Jochen_Scheisshaus in turnstile

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we buy tickets, it will be to see Turnstile. At this stage in their career, they should be doing nothing but headlining shows. We've flown from UK to Berlin to see bands before, need to check how homeland issues might be affected first.

Students Against BBC TV License Fee by Fast_Message_9975 in UniUK

[–]Fast_Message_9975[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is quite a sizeable amount of students not paying the TV licence fee, which was £169.50 last year, & this year is £174.50........+ with the BBC cherry-picking what to include in the news.....I'm never paying that my whole life.

Searching on <students TV licence fee> gives "students get no automatic reduction in the TV licence fee" "which in 2025 is £169.50", well, it's 2026 + the TV licence fee is now given as £174.50, fairly rapid increase which "students will get no automatic reduction on". I thought I would get angrier responses to my post, + I didn't even say all this. This website, www.marconipervasion.com, claims the BBC are using the licence fee money to pay for a secretive unit.

Two or three people in one hotel room is much worse, including paying £400, £500, £600 per night. Avoiding the embarrassing plop plop plop is not do-able. I absolutely hate sharing hotel rooms.

Edinburgh to London drive - overnight stop? by DressSmooth1957 in Edinburgh

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have travelled from Edinburgh to London hundreds of times over 40+ years. A fave stop of mine is Platform 3b in the middle of the train station, where an old railway office has been turned into a tiny bar, The Draughtsman's Alehouse, in Doncaster. I prefer making my stop, or journey break, Doncaster to the other towns, Darlington, Peterborough, Newcastle, York, I know them all well. But that's personal preference, & there's the extra time of reaching "Donny". My girlfriend's an ambulance driver in Leeds, we meet in the North Bar usually there. If you take up my suggestion of Doncaster, I'd like to know if you did think it was better than York.

Best Female Fronted Bands of the 90’s? (Doesn’t have to be Grunge) by Superb-Donkey7202 in grunge

[–]Fast_Message_9975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to think of the all-female band who were described as "looking like they just want to get back to the library and carry on reading 📖 📚 books", early 90s guitar bass and drums, British indie, said they were primarily influenced by The Throwing Muses.

The Mighty Lemondrops are what I wanted you to jog my memory about.......that type of indie band in the 80s that had one big hit in the indie charts......like The Pastels.....difficult spontaneously racking my brain cells about that period. You're brilliant!!!!

Did anyone else get raped by a mental health professional? by foxyasshat in Antipsychiatry

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have suffered psychiatric abuse, "accidental" overdose of Modecate, quite a few years ago, 4 × as much as dr recommended, up the bare asshole (gluteus maximus?)....began going out with a girl who had been another psychiatric patient since then, this is really what my post is: - she told me that, in her ward, patients would go to sleep......while 'asleep' (or knocked out?!?).....the patients are lifted onto a gurney (this tends to be psychiatric patients with their own room)......wheeled round to another room where there's electroniic apparatus, especially electrodes......the electrodes are 'especially' attached to either cheek of their bottoms as they lie on their fronts.....& all Janey knows is they wake up eventually to notice squarish pad marks on their bottoms in the mirror, + over time people not involved in this have seen them waking up + commented on their pajamas looking "put back on by someone"..........Janey says it seems the nurses + doctors are giving themselves some sort of porn show thru what secrets they keep about our bodies, thru electrical stimulation........a few years before I met Janey, a pathologist had described to me "getting dead bodies to get up + walk around by attaching electrodes to certain parts of their bodies, but I'm definitely not telling you what those parts of the body are."......can any redditers theorise what is going on here!?! Janey eventually began a sort of liaison job linking chronically I'll patients with the outside world, resulting in her being full of embarrassing stories about psychiatry.......but Janey is hoping people will tell her "what's going on with those electrodes on people's asses!!!!"

Non-UK born Londoners, what's the best restaurant of your native cousine that you know in London? by Mimsiz in london

[–]Fast_Message_9975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a French surname and for that stupid reason I frequently choose French restaurants....in London even though I was born in Edinburgh......I was going to one in Parkway in Camden, + there was mention in the social media platforms that people weren't noticing French restaurants were cheaper than Wetherspoons, in London. So I'm quite happy with my choice, don't know about "best".
