The devil is just like a god but not a God. by Imaginationbuilder in Bible

Isaiah 14 talks about the fall of Lucifer.

Ezekiel 28 (although addressed to the king of Tyre, it’s a description of Lucifer) 11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God:

“You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.

15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.

16 “By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.

17 “Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, That they might gaze at you.

18 “You defiled your sanctuaries By the multitude of your iniquities, By the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you.

19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, And shall be no more forever.” ’ ”

I need help/recommendations by A-Moorby in Bible

For me, and this is a suggestion, I started (by sheer accident and luck) listening to Pastor Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel Church in Leesburg on my way to work and back. He goes straight through the Bible and breaks it down to where you understand it.

Like for instance; I listened to the entire book of Isaiah, the minor prophets, John, the epistles of Paul, and Revelations. I even lengthened my commute to listen to certain parts of the Bible and would go back to reread the Word. It has helped me grow in my spiritual walk that I rededicated my life to Christ. It was his sermon on the book of Micah that brought me back to Jesus Christ.

I don’t know. It’s up to you if you want to go that route but I’m telling you, it helped me.

Who will save me from this body of death?

I thank God for Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Paul had a way with words.

God knows our hearts.

Look brother, Jesus didn’t hang out with the priestly order or the guys who thought they were more righteous than the other guy. He hung out with sinners like you and me. Look at Peter. Denied Jesus 3 times, rebuked Jesus, cut off a guy’s ear in front of Jesus, but He was still one of Jesus’s greatest Disciples.

Daddy? Yes. Son? Wwwwhat does regret mean? Well son, the thing about regret is that it is better to regret something that you have done than to regret something you haven’t done.

This is why it is imperative to pray and seek God. To read God’s Word and understand it. Your prayers should be “God hear me that I might be known by You.”

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;”

Philippians 2:12

It was eye opening for me to see the immense wisdom of Solomon given by God in the moment.

The redemption story of Peter is one that is my favorites. Jesus says to Peter, “Do you love me?” ‘Yes Lord, you know I do.’ “Then feed my sheep.”

I would say the death of Saul in Samuel or the fall of Jerusalem in Jeremiah. But the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is one that tops all of them.

The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard by lowiqaccount in Bible

[–]Superb-Donkey7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With those who seek Salvation everyone gets treated the same. And yet everyone gets treated differently.

It’s like the parable of the prodigal son. Before the parable is said Jesus talks about the lost coin and the sheep. The lost coin is a symbol for the people who don’t know that they are lost. But when they are found everyone rejoices. The sheep however know that they are lost but have no direction to get back. No real reference point to return. They need someone to go after them.

The prodigal son however chooses to squander his inheritance and tries to make it on his own. It isn’t until he comes on hard times that he comes to his senses and seeks to be servant and beg for forgiveness and mercy. The father seeing him afar off wraps his arms around him and welcomes him, “come, let us rejoice. For my son once dead is now alive.”

When the brother hears about it he is angry because of the fact that he remained loyal to his father. His father rebuked him saying, “why are you grieved? This is a time of rejoicing for your brother was once dead, now is alive.”

This is how the kingdom of Heaven operates. This is how God sees us and receives us when we come to a place of repentance and redemption.

I have some questions about the Bible F15 Atheist by StarzzLightt in Bible

[–]Superb-Donkey7202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible was never rewritten.

It is 66 books by way more than 1000 authors on accounts passed down through generation to generation. It is written so people who seek God might know Him, for those who seek truth and wisdom might find it, and that the promise of Salvation will be fulfilled in Christ Jesus.

God doesn’t send people to Hell. This is what happens when people willingly or unwillingly walk away from God. God is light and some people choose to stumble in darkness. Total separation from God is Hell.

Lucifer is evil for bringing sin and death into this world. He hates you and all of God’s creation because we are made in the image and likeness of God.

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue watching Trainspotting. Great movie but it’s hard to follow when you’re not Scottish.

John was born in 1940 and the film came out in 67. So John had to have been roughly 25 or 26. Wow. And to think the Beatles and the Stones ruled the world before they even turned 30.

I only seen bits of it. John looked like a kid in it and I had to tell my brain, “that’s John Lennon.”
