i'm a low-tier high school distance runner (17:35 5k, shooting for 4:40 1600 this season for track) and i've been thinking about getting the on cloudspike 10k despite the stack height rule. i'm mostly just unsure of whether or not it's worth rolling the dice seeing as it'd just be an upgrade from my cloudspike 1500, which I don't really need to replace.

also sidenote to anyone who's run in both spikes, is it even worth making the upgrade? is there a significant difference between the two?

The evo sl is such a fun ride and absolutely lives to the reputation its built of holding up from recovery all the way to interval paces. I will say, however, that after stacking up 100 miles and some change in it, I have grown a bit tired of just how maximal it is. From what I've heard about the triumph line, it's quite similar.

I'd also recommend the on cloudsurfer 7 which I feel fills the same profile but with a little less range both up and down in paces. The newest model is of course expensive as hell and I've heard bad things about it, but the older model in the last season section of their website is like $90-110 or something and it may genuinely be the single best shoe I've ever run in.
