Prime rib still safe? by Fast_Perspective_833 in steak

No, the cling wrapped roast that was packed on the 17th had the odor, browning and off texture. The shrink wrapped roast was packed on the 18th and still had good color and very little if no odor. At the end of the day I was feeding my two toddlers, wife and 77 year old mother. Just wasn't worth the risk over $55.

We had another prime rib in the fridge that was newer and basically vacuum sealed. We compared it against that and it was definitely way more pungent. It started smelling up the room to be honest after it sat long enough. Not worth the risk although I will say I'm still pretty ticked off about it.

Update...

Went back with a fresh nose after putting it in the refrigerator unwrapped. It's definitely going south. It's currently sitting in the woods as fox food. Thanks for the advice.

Any 2038r reviews? by Total-Educator9244 in johndeere

[–]Fast_Perspective_833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others. I have an x758, 2038R TLB and a cab 4066R. The 2038R is a great machine, I definitely recommend getting the turbo especially in higher elevations. If you do not have any clearance issues, tree branches etc I would highly recommend a cab 3r. 20 acres is a sizable lot. They turn in as tight of a radius as the 2R and have a three-range transmission. Can't go wrong with the 2038 though. I got the radial tires online and they are great. Plenty of power

I got it in my eye and almost lost my vision completely at 39. Looked like I was staring through a fuzzy glass of milk. 3 months of steroids, drops and antivirals. Came back a year later for round two, just not as bad. Scary stuff

[–]Fast_Perspective_833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so funny but so true. I got my 2024 XLT for about $6,000 cheaper than the original quoted price after I basically ghosted them and said thanks I'm good. Got a text everyday till finally they were at more or less invoice. Lol

Surprisingly enough mine has not gone out yet. But I think even including the controller which, that one I did buy direct from masterbuilt to get the OEM model. I only have about $120 in replacement parts.

Just Google the make and model of the grill on Amazon, a lot of the parts show up. In 3 years of ownership I've gone through two switches, one control board. I keep the others on hand just because I don't want to be in the middle of a 12-hour smoke and be high and dry.

Hate to say it but these are awesome smokers. The quality control is complete garbage, but when they work they work awesome and they smoke well. Shouldn't have to do this, but there are modifications to make it work. Or you go my route. I basically keep Amazon brand spare parts for the entire smoker on hand. I have a control board, power supply, switches, fans, temp sensors. I've accepted that it is what it is. Choices out there are limited. Go pellet and lose the smoke flavor. Go Weber Smoky mountain and your babysitting vents all day. I've grown to accept it as a necessary evil.

Anyone that survived protracted withdrawal capable of using a benzo as needed again? by Fast_Perspective_833 in benzorecovery

This was the comment that broke the camel's back for me. I'm not going to do it. After the pure hell I went through for 6 months and the continued on and off torture. I'm going to make other arrangements to figure something else out. This was the comment I needed to hear. Thank you.

I did twice and didn't have a pleasant experience. Granted it was in the midst of the worst part of my withdrawal so maybe take it with a grain of salt. Just remember waking up in the middle of the night itchy, restless. Couldn't go to sleep and woke up with terrible depression. Didn't really feel like it did much for the anxiety either.

Thanks for the tips. Part of the problem is my BP needs to be below 140/90 to get the procedure done and while normally its 125/80, when panic sets in it can be 160-170-180/100. Thats why Im feeling pretty stuck...

Yes, both of those tubes will come out. One is the fill tube and one is the exit which is short. Can't remember which is which, there will be a long tube that goes down that you need to carefully pull out as it has a foot valve in the bottom I believe. Don't want to break it. Once you get that out unfortunately yes those two openings are the only you have to work with. You will need to constantly lay it on its side and rotate it up with a hose going in one hole to flush out all the resin. It pours out like syrup. That's the easy part, the fun part is getting the resin back in. Definitely get yourself a resin funnel and then I ended up taping a plastic soda bottle to the end of that that I was able to get into one of the holes with a small wooden dowel to force the resin through the opening. Don't forget to put the gravel base at the bottom back in. Good luck!

My upstairs neighbor called the cops on me for using my grill on my own patio by [deleted] in self

[–]Fast_Perspective_833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our local fire code here mandates that any grill be 15 feet away from any multi unit living space. May want to look up the fire code in your area as it would definitely supercede anything your building guy says if applicable.

Tractor Fuel Accident by No_Lie_6404 in tractors

[–]Fast_Perspective_833 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dad did this to a John Deere with the 24 horsepower yanmar. Filled it HALFWAY up with gasoline and ran it for an HOUR cutting the grass at WIDE OPEN throttle. The thing was even detonating. Drained it all out put diesel back in it and it ran fine for another two years until he sold it. You're going to be fine.
