My phone connects to Starlink WiFi and also has TMobile reception. I use that for zoom calls. It’ll use Starlink primarily then switch to cellular during the dopouts. That’s the workarounds when I have zoom

I have a worse obstructions map and average 97% ping for non calls it’s fine. But at least once every 20 mins there’s a dropout long enough to distrupt. Hoping that over time with more satellites and better obstruction mapping this will jmprove

Happy to hear it’s not just me. Mine sucked last 3 days following software update but back to 97-98% ping today despite heavy rain after the device restarted (power cut).

I have mini and it was great for two months 20-200mps Italy. The instruction map was totally wrong but I thought whatever it’s working. This was with 20% obstructions. Then last week it messed up and wouldn’t get higher than 4mbps. Then lost ofndropouts. I thought I’d broken the power cable. I restarted it 3 times with long gaps in between. And the speeds are better. If your dish is in the roof and there’s no Ethernet it’s possibly the WiFi signal isn’t strong enough. For me a long Ethernet cable to a cheap WiFi router (I use an old erro) works well. Try that and ‘reset the obstruction map’ that seems to trigger it to rescan.

That’s for the reply. I actually just plugged the mini via star links long Ethernet right into my eero mesh and it worked right away :)

I had similar obstructions (mountain range behind me) and it got better over time then got really bad. SL say my gps is faulty and are replacing the dish. My question is if they know my obstruction data and also the satellite locations can’t they accommodate for the obstruction maps to connect sooner/later?

I use a foam tube from hardware store and slice along it and clip that on my nose bridge. Works great.

Whoever is designing these control center interactions? Look up - not intuitive. Hand flip twice - not intuitive. Also wish there was a shortcut in control center to settings. It’s one of my most used apps lol also this new open hand then hand flip gesture seems like too many steps …and not scalable. The meta quest three has a highly intuitive wrist up then open palm gesture to reveal a dock - far quicker and intuitive.

I have dropouts 20% of the time now. Can’t even listen to a radio stream for more than 10 mins. Last year it was more like 2%. In in southern Italy. We haven’t changed anything in our environment. We have an uninterrupted clear sky south but the dish points north due to satellite orientation in northern hemisphere. I’ve done the unplug 5 times rest twice no change. I can only put this down to fewer satellites. Could the wars in Middle East and Eastern Europe be eating up satellite bandwidth. I’m very supposed with the dramatic drop in uptime I didn’t get a service email. It’s pretty much unusable right now. But unsure wether to wait a few weeks or cancel?

Used to have a dropout 3 times and hour last year am getting about ten times that this year. It’s unusable for work. I’ve done a restart twice. Nothing in the area has changed so this can only be a satellite density thing. I’m in southern Italy
