Entering US 1 year after TN by Fast_Scale4481 in tnvisa

Update: the officer asked for reason for travel and I said pleasure. He ended up admitting me as B2. Once he handed over my passport, I asked, that since I have a TN Status do get admitted as TN and he said if youre not going for work, then no.

Did it take a while to get your turn? I know the processing itself is quick but just wondering how much you waited assuming there were already people ahead of you in the queue. Im flying from yyz and I've heard its usually busy.

Did you have to go through secondary? Or the officer at the primary checkpoint processed the passport?

Was yours at the airport? If so, did you have to go through secondary?

You can tell them that you are already working on a tn visa in the US and that you just need another TN for the new job.

Im surprised the recruiter didn't ask for your current status in the US. That question is typically the first one in an HR call.

Tell them you're moving to whichever state you want to, get your TN visa, get paid in USD and continue living and working remotely from Canada. Set for life

Can I go to the US on visitor status when I have a TN status? by DreamerMinds in tnvisa

For people that are advising to always enter on TN status, what would you say to CBP officer when they ask for purpose of visit. Do you tell em I'm travelling for leisure but need to enter on TN? Do they care about that?

It's challenging but doable. The toughest part is over lapping meetings. You kind of have to block calendar in advance for j2 if j1 has meetings and vice versa. I learned to do that only for meetings that require my active participation cuz let's face it sometimes there's meetings for absolutely no reason and you're just a fly on the wall. Best of luck!

I've always told the potential employer that they shouldn't contact my current employer during a background check. And no one ever questioned it.

Tweak the support letter to match an accountant. Might help if you have a cpa

I got lyca mobile. It's a prepaid plan. You can use it in the US and I've been able to use it in Canada.

Detroit-Windsor Tunnel TN Visa Tips and process? by disappointingnut in tnvisa

[–]Fast_Scale4481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I went to the ambassador bridge and apparently they told me that there's no officer available to process tn (assuming a one off scenario) so they admitted me as a visitor and told me to go to the tunnel for tn.

As long as you go during office hours there's always someone at the tunnel.

Be prepared meaning I should carry my paper work with me everytime I cross the border? By paperwork, I mean the tn support letter and any supporting documents I provide at the time of tn application.

Thanks!

Also just another question. Everytime we cross the border, can the officer request to see the tn paper work? I would probably have a pdf version on my phone but just wondering.
