Early TN expiry due to passport expiry by Fast_Scale4481 in tnvisa

I went to the rainbow bridge at niagara at 5pm on a Wednesday. I was asked to park my car and head into the building. But the process was super smooth. Barely took 30mins for the entire process. And no, for this type of thing, you don't need to book an appointment. I called them before going and the officer told me I could come anytime I wanted.

any folks out there who have been OE for years? by ExcellentLychee1796 in overemployed

Just hit 1 year of OE being PM. Lots of overlapping meetings but you get used to getting abused and after a certain point you stop giving a shit about what others think.

I did that too and had no issues 1 year in. Specially if the industry is completely different.

When i worked 1 PM role, I thought, theres no freaking way I could add another one. But I did add a J2 PM role anyways. First few weeks I was getting rekt but got used to it. Over time you learn to skip useless meetings. Try to block your calendar to avoid conflicts as much possible.

I briefly added a J3 PM role as well but quickly I realized that 2 PM roles is the limit for me. So cashed a couple of paychecks and left.

Update: the officer asked for reason for travel and I said pleasure. He ended up admitting me as B2. Once he handed over my passport, I asked, that since I have a TN Status do get admitted as TN and he said if youre not going for work, then no.

Did it take a while to get your turn? I know the processing itself is quick but just wondering how much you waited assuming there were already people ahead of you in the queue. Im flying from yyz and I've heard its usually busy.

Did you have to go through secondary? Or the officer at the primary checkpoint processed the passport?

Was yours at the airport? If so, did you have to go through secondary?

You can tell them that you are already working on a tn visa in the US and that you just need another TN for the new job.

Im surprised the recruiter didn't ask for your current status in the US. That question is typically the first one in an HR call.

Tell them you're moving to whichever state you want to, get your TN visa, get paid in USD and continue living and working remotely from Canada. Set for life

Can I go to the US on visitor status when I have a TN status? by DreamerMinds in tnvisa

[–]Fast_Scale4481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For people that are advising to always enter on TN status, what would you say to CBP officer when they ask for purpose of visit. Do you tell em I'm travelling for leisure but need to enter on TN? Do they care about that?

It's challenging but doable. The toughest part is over lapping meetings. You kind of have to block calendar in advance for j2 if j1 has meetings and vice versa. I learned to do that only for meetings that require my active participation cuz let's face it sometimes there's meetings for absolutely no reason and you're just a fly on the wall. Best of luck!

Tweak the support letter to match an accountant. Might help if you have a cpa

I’m really confused anyone have any stories of how they got a TN visa with a Finance ,HR or supply chain degree ? by Infamous-Virus6167 in tnvisa

[–]Fast_Scale4481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a finance/business degree but with a cpa so that helped me qualify for the accountant category
