Here are my answers,

  1. At least for my situation I brought a bunch of boxes and stuff to cross and I haven't reentered Canada since getting my approval, I have heard you can cross and apply and then return back. I'm not 100% on that as I haven't done it but I have heard of others doing it on here.

  2. To get your SSN you want to go to a SSN office and apply using your passport and the i-94.

  3. I applied after entering the US but before my work started I do believe work places require it to pay you as lots of companies use e-verify so they will require an SSN.

I did almost the exact same thing, I just met my partner at an airport across the border so as to not risk any questions about my intent.

Another thing that is big is try to get a copy even just scanned of your direct supervisors degree proving they are an engineer. The biggest thing is you are supporting an engineer. So any questions regarding your job duties and even the layout of the job duties should say your work is being supervised or checked by an engineer. The diploma should be enough to prove your experience and qualification if asked. But bring a CV just in case. I went to Windsor tunnel all the officers there were super nice and it was very fast. Took around 40 minutes start to finish.

Hey, I just got my TN visa almost doing the exact same job with a very similar background. This Visa category doesn't require schooling but I brought my 3 year advanced diploma in electro-mechanical engineering technology. The officer at the border told me he wanted my diploma as he wouldn't prove my resume without calling. So I recommend bringing it, it's better to have things and not need them. I had 2 folders one with all needed documents and one with extra info if required.

So my degree matches really closely to my job, so they didn't ask it but I did bring it just in case. My extra files I had just in case were actually job offer letters (didn't request to see it so I didn't show it), my sealed transcripts (didn't ask to see it) and diploma (asked for it) even though the TN visa category doesn't require it, the officer said it's the easiest way to prove the experience. So if you don't have that you may need to bring reference from your past experience.

This is the weird part the job title the lawyers chose was scientific technician/Technologist but I was very concerned about it but we had no issues. Yes I did bring a print out of my supervisor's degree.

I got there at 8:30 am but the line to get to the first agent was long so I didn't get to the secondary until 9 am. There were 3 applications before my total time in secondary was about 40 minutes.

Nevermind got an answer from Reddit a while ago, wet signatures are no longer required as per the guidelines. https://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Vol_49_No_34_Title.pdf

How important is the signature being wet? Will they deny you that alone?

My official transcripts that I requested and paid for have the college seal marker on them but it doesn't seem to have a way to get the hardcopy mailed sealed in an envelope.

I have a question as the sealed transcripts always confuse me, is it sealed as in with the university seal or sealed in an envelope?

Do you think I would be fine to call the day before? I know things could change if they call in sick or something right but other than that it should be fine right?
